[Quartzsite Cruiser]

Here are some pictures of Ijmuiden on our first and last time there.  We saw part of the town on our way to and from the port, but it was too far to walk into town the last time we docked there.

Across the street from the cruise terminal are some very tall sand dunes.  During WWII the Germans built a series of bunkers/gun emplacements in the dunes after they invaded The Netherlands.

 

 

The gangway being removed in preparation to sail down the west coast of Europe and to the Mediterrean.

As ports go, Ijmuiden is not the greatest.  😁

I can't leave out the lemon drop martini I had at the Movenpick in Amsterdam.  It was the best I have ever had.

We had a nice afternoon at mom’s place , at 97 she still lives at home in a large house and has the nicest lawn in the neighbourhood .  We are blessed with her being in great health . Yesterday we went to the Chinese restaurant together and today it was cake and Prosecco

Happy Sunday, the pictures from today are wonderful...would love to visit there! 

I knew all of my grandparents, but we had to drive a few hours to visit both sets.  My paternal grandmother was a very " crafty" person.  She loved to knit and sew.  All of our Barbie clothes were made by her.  When I look at those little sleeves, I wonder how she did all of that!  My sister has all of those clothes at her house!  She didn't knit for a while, but memories came back to her when she had to move to a nursing home...she started making baby caps again.  I have a sewing machine, and started today on a baby boy quilt.  Our church quilting group sews for our baptisms, and also for other people in need of a warm hug from a quilt.  Our 2 grand-daughters are also starting to sew, they each have made a couple of quilts!  

 

Prayers for @rafinmd, hope your case of covid is an easy one and that you feel better soon.  Take care and rest!

I did do a self test this morning.  As expected, it was positive.  I will test every other day until there is a change.

 

I am fending off fever with ibuprofen.  Morning and afternoon temperatures were normal but at noon it was 98.8.  I am on a roller coaster of feeling chilled alternatively feeling hot.  Completely unpredictable.

 

While quite lethargic I did get through online worship today without nodding off.

 

I made an attempt at a nap this afternoon but it was not about to happen.

 

I have no unmet needs at this point but prayers are always welcome.

Roy, I'm hope this virus runs it's course soon.  A couple of things you might want to think about, and I hope I'm not being out of line.  Several times, we've had doctors and nurses say an elevated temperature is not considered a fever until it is about 101F.  Also, our DDs pediatrician told me that fevers help fight viruses and germs, and advised me not to give the girls anything to reduce the fever unless it was at least 102F.  This is just some information for you to consider.
