Rare Bedruthen Posted September 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2023 We are planning our first Alaska cruise for next May. We have three similar itineraries and two ships. There are four common ports, but the fifth varies by itinerary. Itinerary 1. Crown Princess, calling at Victoria and cruising Glacier Bay Itinerary 2. Crown Princess calling at Victoria and cruising Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier Itinerary 3. Ruby Princess calling at Prince Rupert and cruising Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. We appreciate any feedback on which itinerary and ship you would choose and why. Thanks

Rare Bedruthen Posted September 19, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted September 19, 2023 Just to add the cruises are round trip from San Francisco, as we fly in there and will be doing a National Parks roadtrip after the cruise.

I would not even consider booking a voyage that did not include Glacier Bay.

partybarbie Posted September 19, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2023 I would go with Glacier Bay, but I really enjoyed sailing roundtrip out of Vancouver more than San Francisco. It seems like you have already made plans to leave from San Francisco though.
NavyVeteran Posted September 20, 2023 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2023 As everyone else has said, Glacier Bay. It's not only for the scenery. Several National Park rangers come onboard while in the national park. One will be giving commentary from the bridge. One will be working directly with special activity for those in the kid's program. There's plenty of time to see the others, but definitely Glacier Bay for your first Alaska cruise.
