Unsolicited Move Up Offer

Never considered a move-up offer nor did I really understand how it worked but today I got an email for a cruise on what I thought was a pretty full cruise(11/9 Apex) and indicated a few very low offers.   If I get it, fine.  Wondering why Celebrity would email this.  Maybe just hoping to get some of us to pay more! Just never saw this before.

It is not unusual, nor does it mean there are actually any empty cabins, they do it to be prepared in case of late cancellations or TA's returning inventory.

My understanding is that the move up offers are handled by a third party and that the offer to bid really has nothing to do with the amount of available rooms they currently have in inventory.

This does not come from Celebrity . They use another company to look after this

You nailed it.  Just wanted to add the 3rd party irons out the math, Celebrity is calling the shots with minimum bidding amounts and with how much inventory they want to release with MoveUp

The move up isn’t a guarantee.   It is just fishing in case there cabins that become available.
