In my experience there is very little in the way of daytime entertainment or enrichment. This is an area where there is a huge room for improvement. There are talks about the ports and I have found those interesting even if I did not intend to disembark. There is sometimes an "audience" with a senior officer of the ship, sometimes the captain. Interesting too. But that is about it AFAIR.

They have production shows, fun corny games and game show throughout the day and evening, different things that the Cruise Director and staff will have happening, cooking and cocktail demos...you won't lack for things to do for entertainment 🙂

There are outdoor activities like mini golf, ping pong, pickleball. There are also usually other fun shipboard games like the Egg Drop, Paper Airplane challenge, Mini Olympics, Piazza games. Often these types of things depend on the entertainment staff onboard. They often do demonstrations like fruit carving, cocktail making, napkin folding and there are sometimes arts/crafts classes as well. The spa also offers some activities like Ladies Pampering Party, Neck and Shoulder massage, etc. and there are usually a couple of wine tastings each cruise. Just check your daily activity guide and choose the things that appeal to you - there is usually plenty of options.

This is especially true when the ship stops at any port.

If you look in my expanded signature area below, you will find various Live From threads of the Princess cruises (among others) we've been on since cruising started back up. If you just look at the pictures, you should see some of the things we did while on the ship, both in the evening and on sea days. In short, we never lacked for things to do.

When I did an Alaska cruise with Princess last year, one of the highlights was the enrichment programs.  They had a naturalist on board who gave excellent presentations on Alaskan wildlife, culture etc.  There was at least one enrichment program every day.

Just an addendum to my last post... my experience is on UK departures only, in fact Southampton only, so perhaps there might be more choice on departures from other countries.

Princess does a fabulous job with their Alaska interpretive program. They have a terrific program for kids on the Alaska cruises as well.

I'm not a shopper. But I do notice in the patter things like champagne jewelry sales, free necklace if you attend a certain sale, etc. My sister LOVES shopping so she went to several of those activities.

Yes, they used to give them away but they don't do so until you listen to their sales pitch first, which might take a while as I recall.

On sea days you kind of develop a routine. Ours is coffee in bed - I'm sent out to forage for DH and some poor soul inthe IC has to deal with me without makeup or contacts. Out the cabin by 10.30ish, walk 3 or 4 miles on the walking track or deck 7 then lunch, find a quite spot for reading, partake in a beverage or three, listen to some live music before changing for dinner - usually in the buffet maybe loose a few pennies in the casino and enjoy another beverage in a bar before bed. Bliss. If there are enrichment talks in the theatre after 10am we attend and reschedule the rest of our activities.

Movies are shown on deck constantly.

There is giant Jenga: crew vs passengers.

Coloring and origami

How hard is it to hear the movies on deck?  I assumed that with all the people in pools and on the lido deck actually hearing the movie would be hard.

Giant Jenga sounds like  a blast, both to play and to watch.

Coloring and Origami are right up my alley - I am a dork when it comes to arts and crafts type stuff.

I haven’t noticed a noisy crowd. But my last cruise was Alaska. Not the right kind of weather. I will say that IME Princess shows a lot or concert films. No plot and you already know the songs.
