Korimako Posted October 5, 2023 #1 Ā Share Posted October 5, 2023 I know it will likely be hot and humid on land in Vanuatu, Fiji and New Caledonia and I will bring suitable clothing. But what will the temperatures be like on the shipĀ between these places? I also know it is air-conditioned, but I wondered how hot it would be if I wanted to find a quiet corner to read on deck. Rare lyndarra Posted October 5, 2023 #2 Ā Share Posted October 5, 2023 I've always found AC a bit cool on most ships. On deck, IME, it may be cool to pleasant while underway. You should be able to find a spot to your liking. Ā
SinbadThePorter Posted October 5, 2023 #3 Ā Share Posted October 5, 2023 Out at sea the air temperature will generally mirror the sea temperature. Ā For the sea around Vanuatu and New Caledonia that's about 24-26 degrees at the moment. By November that should be about 28 degrees, but in an El Nino year as we now have, it may reach 30 degrees. Ā The temperature on deck will depend on the exposure to the sun and the wind.
Rare arxcards Posted October 5, 2023 #4 Ā Share Posted October 5, 2023 A nice time of year for the islands. Ā While moving at sea, the apparent temperature can feel quite cool, especially if you are out of the sun and/or cruising into the breeze. Just covering your arms and legs will normally be enough to prevent feeling cold, or even just using a pool towel like a blanket.
Rare Jean C Posted October 5, 2023 #5 Ā Share Posted October 5, 2023 I always find the theatre pretty chilly in the evening and usually wear long sleeves š
