Temperatures November South Pacific

Recommended Posts

I know it will likely be hot and humid on land in Vanuatu, Fiji and New Caledonia and I will bring suitable clothing. But what will the temperatures be like on the ship  between these places? I also know it is air-conditioned, but I wondered how hot it would be if I wanted to find a quiet corner to read on deck.

Out at sea the air temperature will generally mirror the sea temperature.

For the sea around Vanuatu and New Caledonia that's about 24-26 degrees at the moment. By November that should be about 28 degrees, but in an El Nino year as we now have, it may reach 30 degrees.

The temperature on deck will depend on the exposure to the sun and the wind.

A nice time of year for the islands.

While moving at sea, the apparent temperature can feel quite cool, especially if you are out of the sun and/or cruising into the breeze. Just covering your arms and legs will normally be enough to prevent feeling cold, or even just using a pool towel like a blanket.
