Papeete Hotel with Day Pass for Arrival Day

We will arrive 8 am at PPT on boarding day. We need a place to hang for a few hours before boarding. Any recent experiences with possibilities?

Both the Intercontinental and the Hilton advertise day passes but many posts indicate they are hard to actually reserve.  You would need to contact the hotel directly.  You could also ask that if you came for breakfast could you then use the pool area.

We got a day room at the Kon Tiki after our cruise. It's walking distance to the ship. Nothing fancy but clean. You can walk to the market and there are some restaurants close by.

We just returned and used the Intercontinental Day Pass after disembarking the ship as our flight was in the evening.  I emailed them from the Intercontinental web page with the request and they confirmed about 2 days later.

How much is the Intercontinental day pass when you do it on your own? Also, when do they let you check in and when do you have to check out?

The cost of the day pass depends on day of the week.  It also includes lunch.

Mon -Thurs is 8,990 XPF

Fri - Sun is 10,700 XPF

 

Technical check in was 10am and check out 5pm.  However we actually arrived around 9:30 and left around 6:30pm.  We went to the bar and had an appetizer and drinks before departing.

Thanks so much! Great information. I'm assuming the price you listed are per person? Also, how did you book the day room? Can you do it on line or do you have to call?

Day room cost is per person.  To get a reservation you must email the hotel.  I got confirmation about 2 days later.

That seems to be one great price ...

Was that for a regular room or did you have a day pass to run around and use of the larger 'transit' rooms.

Regular rooms are often not available that early  ....

Sorry if my previous post was not clear.  We reserved what they call a Lotus Day Pass on their website.  It does not include a room but does include

 

1) storage of of bags

2) use of both pools, lounge chairs and umbrellas

3) use of outdoor shower and changing area

4) Lunch (main course and dessert) in their gourmet Lotus Restaurant

 

We considered getting a room but they cannot guarantee availability until 3pm

Food is solid, not spectacular but solid at the main venue. The Lotus option is good.
