I'm very much looking forward to your (semi) live! That song is a guilty pleasure of mine. On the rare occasions I hear it, I crank it up and sing along. The line about having the cheese quesadilla is my personal favorite. Am I the only one??

We were approaching the 45 days from sailing mark, which is when dining reservations become available for general passengers. (Rock Stars can book at 60 days prior)  JinxyB said she'd just let me deal with the reservations, and her only request was "not too early", which is when I normally dine… I told her that I'd compromise on 7:00 pm , even though she would probably prefer even later.

I had plans to stay up until midnight to book on the app, but it was Labor Day weekend, and I completely forgot… To be honest, I probably wouldn't have made it either way. The next morning when I woke up I remembered what I was supposed to do, and quickly went on the app to see what was available. For whatever reason it would only allow me to make reservations for night number two, Thursday. No matter what I tried, Thursday was the ONLY thing that would work.

I went on their website and requested an online chat, and even though it was 7:30 am on Sunday morning, I actually got through to someone. I explained the situation, and they said they could try and help me out. After about a half hour or so, I eventually was able to secure all the preferred dates and times that I desired. Night one: The Wake at 7:30, so that we'll have time to enjoy sailaway… Night two: Extra Virgin at 7:00… Night three: Pink Agave at 7:00… And night four: Test Kitchen at 7:00, but we may switch this to Gunbae once on board.

I was satisfied that at least I had that nailed down, as I would've been peeved if I couldn't get my preferred venues and times…

The very next day I received this email about booking my dining. Of course, I had already secured my dining reservations the prior morning. I'm considering cancelling Test Kitchen and going with Gunbae Korean instead, as JinxyB probably wouldn't enjoy the fru fru stuff at Test Kitchen...

I've been trying to get my mouth around one of these fish sandwiches for years, and it finally looks like I'm going to have a chance to make it happen. The OG minuta sandwich from La Camoranera Seafood Joint.

I'm curious to see how the sandwich is as I've also wanted to try it since seeing it on DDD. Of course I have no excuse other than procrastination and laziness as it's only about a little over an hour away for me, but such is life, lol! 😂

As far as travel logistics go, I'll be arriving in Miami tomorrow afternoon, but JinxyB has to work tomorrow. She'll be arriving around 9:00 on Wednesday morning, and the plan is to store her luggage at my hotel room while we Uber over to Little Havana. A couple of hours of sightseeing over there, and then return to the hotel to pick up our luggage and head to the port, arriving around 1:00. With Deep Blue Extras we both have priority arrival time, as well as lots of other perks. Virgin Voyages really kicked it up a notch with these benefits! This will be her very first sailing with Virgin, and through status match, she'll enjoy all the same things as I will.

It's slow at work today, but we've been trying to find stuff to do. Less than two hours to go until I'm officially "on vacation"!... I started some preliminary packing yesterday, but the real action will be happening this evening.

I've tried tracking the shirt online and now their website is acting funny. Something tells me I won't be receiving my red shirt today, and I'll have to go with a backup option.

On Friday October 13th of all days, rumors circulated online of a gastrointestinal illness outbreak on board Scarlet Lady. Symptoms included nausea, diarrhea, aches, cramps, and low grade fever… Some speculated that it was due to ingesting the scallops at Test Kitchen, but no one knew for sure. Apparently it reached the 3% threshold of passengers and crew threshold where the CDC was made aware of the situation. There were reports of many people visiting the medical center on board, and the official number affected was supposedly between 70 and 80. Virgin Voyages arranged for a group debarkation of the sick passengers, as well as deep cleaning prior to the new Sailors boarding that afternoon.

As of now, it doesn't appear to be norovirus, but whatever it was didn't sound like fun at all, and I hope those affected are all on the mend.

Now the USPS website is busted. I'm pretty much resolved that I'm not going to be receiving my new red shirt today. I'm going to put a note in my mailbox telling them to at least put it in one of the locked boxes so it doesn't get stolen like last time...
