Dining Room Times

I am not clear on how the dining room times work.  We are not YC or Aurea, I understand that we need to set up either an early, or late dining time.  Ideally we would like to dine around 6:30 or 7:00, how do we best manage to accomplish this?  Is it possible to get a two top, or is it all group seating? TIA ...

If you’re experience level is Bella, you will be assigned a dining time. Fantastica allows you to provide a preference for your dining time, but doesn’t guarantee that choice. Once you board and see the given time on your cruise card, there may be an ability to see a dining room host/hostess to change that time or see about getting a different table assignment. Again, no guarantees. Dining times are generally 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm and 9pm.

It also depends on the ship. Some only have two dining times. Depending on the cruise it may be 5:30 to 6:00, and 7:30 to 8:00.

Two-tops may be in rows with about 6" apart from each other On our last cruise aboard the MSC Preziosa (Fantasia-class) DSIL was with and we had a very nice Three-top in the MDR seperated from other tables, dining at 6:00 pm.

We just got off the Miraviglia.  We had fantastica experience and was assigned a dining time of 6pm.  A little too early for us so on embarkation we went to the dining room to get the time changed.  It was a very long line and we waited almost an hour.  When it was finally our turn the only later times were 8pm or later.  We took the 8pm but the dining room actually opened at 7:45pm or you can get there by 8:30pm so you can see either the early show or late show in the theater.  Also ask for a two top at the end of the row so you are not between two tables.

If you have an 8pm assigned time they reserve the right not to seat you if you show up at 8:30

Twice we got there around 8:25 and we had no trouble being seated. We just told our servers we were going to the early show the day before and they said it was no problem.
