Still no Welcome Back offer, but did receive the post cruise survey. Leave again Nov 26 and would like to test out using the Welcome Back offer while onboard. In order to get it, it needs to be applied to your new booking. (Made witching 90 days of returning from your cruise, I believe)

Not trying to have it applied to the upcoming cruise- sorry if I wasn't clear.

Rare 0106 Posted November 16, 2023 #30 Share Posted November 16, 2023 We got the off the Rotterdam on 10/22. My DH received a Welcome Back offer on 11/13. Offer is valid until 1/9. Campaign ID: HETRES1 I have not received an offer. The cruise reservation was made in my name and paid for with my credit card!🤣

When booking on board the SBC offer for booking on board is quite generous and is basically the exact same as the Welcome Home VPN/ZPN but it definitely cannot be combined with the booking while on board.

I'm pretty sure that you can apply ZPM or ZPN regardless. BTW, those are the two welcome back promo codes. They are triggered by the last sailed date and not the survey.

Did not get the email but my HAL PCC was able to use the ZPM code without a problem. Also got AARP and stockholder OBC, so they are combinable, but not on a casino free cabin deal. pmjnh Posted November 18, 2023 #34 Share Posted November 18, 2023 (edited) We just booked a cruise while onboard the Oosterdam. We had the email with the promo code and they would not let us use it for that booking because it was not combinable with the obc for booking on board..by the time I was able to reach my TA, the date had expired. These two promos are basically the same - the onboard booking OBC and the FCD and Thank You for Sailing. Thus, you cannot get both.

About a month since we dis-embarked on 10/15/23. The offer is good until 1/9/24....that's just under 90 days since we cruised. FWIW I've gotten two more "welcome back" promo emails now for a total of 3. The last one was yesterday (11/24/23) and the expiration date keeps getting extended. Now it is 1/23/24. (They really want me back onboard....It's good to be wanted.....I can comply with that...LOL)
Rare POA1 Posted November 25, 2023 #37 Share Posted November 25, 2023 The book on board and welcome back are two promos in the same family. You get the higher value for booking on board and the lower value welcome back for booking when you get home.

They are actually the same promo, with the same perks, and the same amount of onboard credit. You can apply either one to a cruise but not both. I have found over the years that, in general, the onboard cruise consultants are the least knowledgeable folks onboard, whether it is for booking a cruise or anything about cruising. I have even seen some of them spend more time at the bar than at their desk! 🙂 1

Rare POA1 Posted November 25, 2023 #42 Share Posted November 25, 2023 Is there any benefit to booking on board? We have always gotten FCDs, but waited to book until we got home.

We have always gotten FCDs, but waited to book until we got home. That's the way we have always done it. Although we are in Canada, we call our long-time travel agent in Orlando and simply tell her what ship we want to go on, what date and the category of cabin we want. That's it! She takes over from that point on, books the cruise, applies the FCC, gets the Welcome Back Credit, requests our dining times, special dietary needs, etc and we are set to go. If a price reduction occurs before final payment, we let her know and she contacts the cruise company for us. p.s. Forgot to add ... not a commercial here but we always get a much better price than what they can do onboard. I've gotten quotes onboard a few times and it was never as good as what our TA can book......We do as you do....Love the FCD's...load up on them.....A $100 deposit w/some OBC always makes sense for us.
DaveOKC Posted November 26, 2023 #45 Share Posted November 26, 2023 I think the OBC from booking while onboard ends up being the same IF you purchase a Future Cruise Deposit AND then use the Thank You For Sailing email mentioned above. This requires a booking within 2 months of getting off of the ship as I recall.

Cruisin4now Posted November 26, 2023 #47 Share Posted November 26, 2023 (edited) Apologies if this has already been asked, but I have two questions. What is the promo value of the welcome back code applied to a future booking? I didn’t receive one, but did book a new cruise within 90 days of return and used FCD. Has anyone successfully requested HAL apply the welcome back code post 90 days upon seeing the debarkation and subsequent new booking were within the guidelines to receive it? Yes, we got it without even asking (Booked within 2 weeks after disembarkation for a cruise starting after another 2 weeks 😉 ).
jagger16 Posted November 27, 2023 #50 Share Posted November 27, 2023 We haven’t gotten an email or notice in the mail for some time now. We have our TA contact HAL to apply it to our next booking and it hasn’t been a problem. We usually book while on board so we just contact her when we get home and ask her to do it.
