The StockPerks rep said in their email that they were working on a computer version for their website.  I am hopeful that they actually will do this for dinosaurs like me that still use desktops.  😄

Not a dinosaur.  Web sites are far more function than phone apps in almost every instance.

Not a fan. Just got denied for the first time because they said the shareholder was not in the room. Wife's official name is Melissa, goes by Missy. Carnival has Melissa, Schwab statement says Missy, first time being denied. Guess I have to refile and explain the name.

It might have been fortunate to have that happen now (or actually a couple of weeks ago now), since using completely different names as on different accounts in general could cause more significant problems later on. I'm not an expert but I would want my legal name on any financial account. I've even experienced occasional problems with including or excluding my middle name or initial. I would never have thought of Missy as an alternative form of Melissa (maybe "Mel", or even "Lissa.")

When I first had to submit a statement from my broker for a shareholder credit, I learned that the website provided me with the ability to label each account. So even if my IRA was owned by "John Smith", I could have the account statements show any title, for example "Mary Jones' IRA." Of course I had no reason to do that; just saying it was possible. The label has nothing to do with who owns the account - it's completely arbitrary. I put my actual name into the label for each account, because if I hadn't, I would have had to supply even more of the statement, since my name and the share listing didn't appear on the same page until I included my name in the label.

my shareholder OBC request was denied.  Reason given was "This booking is a restricted discounted reservation and is not eligible for onboard credit"    True, this booking was at a discounted rate, but the booking itself included some OBC.  This is the first time that my Shareholder OBC was denied, and I have booked similarly discounted / casino rate cruises many times in the past.

Just did the stockperks app yesterday and it took 1 hour. Rejected password even though conformed to directions. Took 10 minutes to send email verification, then timed out. Why  should guests, especially those not comfortable with technology, have to work so hard to get a few dollars OBC. CCL is moving backward while RCL/Celebrity is moving rapidly forward.

Once you get it set up, it makes the process to redeem the credit sooooo much easier.  I absolutely LOVE it!  No more having to download copy of statements, redacting account numbers, submitting through fax or email.  You just go into the app, find your cruise company, input booking number, sailing date, cruise ship name, name on booking, etc and hit submit.  I would argue that the previous way was harder from a technical perspective.

My update/timeline - 1) downloaded App and submitted proof of shares by attaching a pic on Friday January 12th

2) today Tuesday January 16 I received email saying my Manual Brokerage Statement was Processed and instructed me to go to App to “explore and redeem perks”

So I did that, searched around a little bit, came upon page that asks for Cruise info, and completed that.
Now it is wait and see again.

We got the e-mail saying it was processed and go to App to explore and redeem perks. Where did you find redeem perks? We can't find it.

It was quite a search but eventually found it. Sorry though I did this back in January so do not remember where I eventually found it.

As I said earlier I do not remember where I found the “redeem perks” info. But the interesting thing is I did that in January and two weeks ago I sent in another request on the stock perks app for an upcoming cruise in September and I received the OBC within a day, nothing updated was requested of me, I got an email saying approved and went to carnival.com and signed in and pulled up my cruise info and the $100 showed up - the new process is a mystery to me.

I applied for and received email confirmation that my request for shareholder OBC was approved. Looking at my booking on Carnival.com, I see "OBC General Booking $100". I thought in the past it said "Shareholder OBC". I can't remember if I was supposed to receive any promotional OBC when I booked the cruise, so just wondering if this $100 is, in fact, my shareholder OBC.

OK... it's not clear if you are saying that you received an email from StockPerks saying they approved your application for shareholder benefits.  I'll reply like that is the case.

You still have one more step... you have to now request shareholder credit for your specific cruise through the StockPerks App.  I believe you enter your booking number and perhaps some other info (I don't recall at the moment), and then the App will send the approved request to Carnival Corp.  You should then see the Shareholder OBC on your booking with-in a few days.  StockPerks will send you an email confirming a day or two or three after that.

Thanks for outlining the steps. I do show "approved" and "redeemed" for my booking number in the StockPerks App, but since the OBC listed on Carnival.com didn't specifically say Shareholder OBC, I wasn't sure if it was for that.

Yup... just looked at my booking... says "OBC General Booking" too, with all the OBC amounts combined into one amount.
So, you are good... or at least, we are good...  😁

We finally got our OBC today! We requested OBC for our May cruise and had no problem. This time even though I heard you don't have to resubmit your stock info, they made us do it again.

This is the second time I used this new process to claim our shareholder benefit and like it a lot.  I submitted my request on 9/3 and it was applied to our cruise on 9/11.

Good to know. Sent my request yesterday and received a confirm of receipt. Indicated they would reply within 3 days with next steps.
