Picton, South Island day trip recommendations off cruise whip.

I got off a ferry from North Island in Picton.  We picked up a high car to tour the South Island and took off, so I have no memories of Picton, except pretty water views.

Picton - Any recommendations for day trip off a cruise ship - I enjoy small groups or solo only.    Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady

I have done an excellent cruise of Queen Charlotte Sound.

IIRC the cruise took up a morning and left time for wine tasting and chocolate shop tour in the afternoon.

Have also done the steam train trip into Blenheim. Great one for entusiasts but not a lot to do in Blenheim.

I did an excellent day trip from Picton which visited five different wineries. The company was called Na Clachan Tours.

There were nine of us in a mini bus, and we got special treatment and private tastings at each place.
