Yes. On some ships the cruise director might give some demographic information such as countries. Maybe ages.

But VV has no cruise director.

and each sailing is different

The cruise line knows.  In one instance, I saw figures for 2022 in a VV info sheet put out by the company.   In mid 2023, a TA posted what he claimed were figures from VV, but he did not specify the dates involved.  They were quite similar to the 2022 numbers.  If you want to know about YOUR sailing, ask at sailor services.  If you just want passenger head count, any public facing crew member on board can tell you that.

If you want anecdotal experience, look around the ship.

Quoted because it bears repeating. Unfortunately, Carlos was my first Diva and he ruined me for everyone else. Absolute pro.

(In case anyone isn't quite clear on what this means, Carlos is a resident Diva/Drag Queen who runs different entertainment events. Why is he great? He is a fantastic performer (singing/dancing/stand up comedy) and particularly great at tossing jokes back and forth with the audience. For the most part, the other Divas I've seen aren't quite as experienced at the rapid-fire audience engagement.)

What is carlos drag name?  We had Titty Kaka and felt like she was the best drag performer  we have ever seen and really enjoyed her but I see she is on Resilient lady after feb in Australia.  hoping for a great one on Valiant lady in March

Drag name IS Carlos.  That's why he uses "A Woman Named Carlos" on line.

Previously was “Carlos the Uber Driver” but apparently got sent a letter from Uber telling them not to use their name! Then changed to “A Woman Named Carlos”

I don't think the higher prices have attracted Celebrity passengers but rather the changes (price increases / cuts) at Celebrity under their new president has longtime Celebrity passengers looking for other options.  With a big focus on food & adults, VV is a natural transition for Celebrity passengers looking for a new home.

This is true, at least for this Celebrity sailor. Especially the focus on food and the adults-only policy. Celebrity hasn't priced us out, but certain changes to the X experience definitely had us wanting to try something new. Virgin was a good time but not a replacement for X, at least not for now. It will be very interesting to see how the line (and prices) evolve as VV finds its niche.

I booked a TA for November. Hope the demographic changes. Would rather not deal with a lot of vomit.

Don't count on that being a smooth cruise. The North Atlantic can be rough. Furthermore, the Lady ships have flat bottoms and were designed for warm weather cruising areas.

The Virgin TAs take a more southern route that is more likely to be smoother than a Northern route TA.  We took the October Barca to Miami 14 day and although not calm and we were getting hit broadside with wave swell action the internal Gyros took most of the brunt.  I don't think we had to have nay shows cancelled due to weather.  I do agree that Virgin ships are not designed like Cunard Ocean Liner ships for Trans Atlantics.

Absolutely. The roughest weather I've ever experienced on an ocean liner was Bermuda to NY in September.

Not sure what you are looking for in demographic.  Typical on VV is average age of 43. On our recent transatlantic we were told it was 55.  It was definitely an older crowd than our provious TAs on virgin.

Yes the TA felt so old! It was my first TA with VV after experiencing Princess TA I was hoping to get away from the older crowd. The universe played a mean joke on me 🤦🏻‍♀️ I am wondering how many of the sailors were virgins on virgin & if they will be back for the TA on Resilient Lady next year?

Can't address whether people will be back... I've been on all 4 of the TAs that VV has had so far.  On the first 3, the average age was 43-45.  I have no explanation on this one except that 55 was the stat from Sailor Services, along with 2348 sailing.  Maybe the word has gotten out that VV is not just  for 20 somethings who want to party hardy (at least on the long sailings).  That perception scared off a lot of us at the beginning.  Shorter cruises do have a younger crowd.  The other thing is that for those of us who booked early, this was the least expensive of the 4 TAs.....maybe that interested the older crowd.

On the other hand, one way that VV attracts the younger group is/was their excellent wifi. We qualified for free premium, but the price increase for premium might have scared away some who planned to work while cruising.  Standard wouldn't have been good enough for zoom....at least when I tried it.
