LIVE from the Celebration 1/14-1/21…

Over lunch, I explained to Mr. Megan that Jamman and Patti are getting Cheers! He said he has to start his liver tonight with some crown and cokes. Ya gotta train to maintain with The Tribe!

I started training last night. Once we hit Georgia tomorrow afternoon, I'll workout each day up until the cruise. Patti may do some light weights pre cruise, but she's an unknown entity once the cruise starts. :classic_biggrin:

Winners train; losers complain. Patti has an inner-champion in there like Baker, I feel it.

Chilly morning, but the wind finally let up. Took the kids to school and got a slow 5k in at the “city park”. 2 pairs of pants, 2 shirts, heated vest, hoodie on top, with gloves and a beanie… I felt like the marshmallow man yet still cold.
“I can’t move my arms” was said a few times.
I usually lose about 5 lbs before each cruise, but in November, I had some gallbladder problems. It ended up being stones, but they went undetected for awhile. I lost 12-15 lbs through that ordeal… and I’m still 10ish lbs from my typical weight. I figured between this sailing and Valiant Lady in February, I’ll be back at my functioning weight.

You are disciplined to be out running when you need to be all bundled up. Good on ya!

BTW, when are you going on Allure?

I'm a habitual lurker (not the creepy kind) who is very excited to follow along with your, @sid_9169 and @Jamman54's reviews of the Tribe Cruise.  I am a novice cruiser and I find your lives to be extremely entertaining and informative.  Thank you all for taking the time to do these live reports! I will get very little work done in the next several days.

Ugh. I feel lazy when I don’t get at least a 5k in 3 times a week. I cross train (weights) a lot more in the winter.
allure is May 20.

I can’t keep up with the mocha chocolate get always!  I’m ready for cheers!  Will likely have a few tonight to get some sleep before our 3:15 wake up call to get dad to the hospital at 4:30. Surgery at 6:30 and recovery to begin by 8am.  His wife gets in sometime tonight. So she will take the reins over tomorrow.  She gets to be the rehab director.

I purchased Mr. BohJang's Bottomless Bubbles today.  Ultimately it is for the best, but no Cheers for me.  BOO

Wait... you bought the package for the both of you or just the mister?  Did I read that correctly?

Just sent the last “scheduled” email I have to send before leaving. I am waiting on a few responses. Hopefully, they will all react accordingly. Of course, we all know they will make their decisions while I’m traveling. That’s always how it works. And my boss is on the Carnival Spirit for 2 weeks right now. 😆  Only 2 zooms tomorrow on the schedule, then I’m pretty much home free… although we all know, I work throughout the cruise as well. I can’t help it… I’m a giver. LOL

I bought the Bubbles just for hubby because he doesn't drink.  I can't get the Cheers for me because both people in the room have to buy the Cheers package on Carnival. Both people in the room don't have to purchase Bottomless Bubbles.  So I will be purchasing all my cocktails individually - I don't waste my time with soda.

DOH!  Reading comprehension issues on my part.  I thought I read you were only able to buy Cheers for 1 in a room.  I knew that, but I misread it.

You and me both.  On our Celebration cruise last June, my wife had a casino special that provided her free drinks throughout the duration of the cruise, even though she doesn't drink.  I was finally able to buy the Cheers package, as I've never previously been able for that very reason.

That was fast… 😆… I actually think I was just looking in the wrong area. I only use AARP for gift cards so it’s not like I frequent this website. This will cover drink tax in ports and Seafood Shack.

FYI they also off some decent discounts for us "geriatrics"...ie car rentals, hotels etc...but you already probably have better access to those discounts as perks.

How long have they had so many “cruise cash” options? I think it’s silly. Why would I give someone cruise cash but only to spend specifically on one thing?

I have never used cruise cash on Carnival, but I did purchase casino cash on Celebrity because they offered a 10% discount.  I don't remember the limit.

Yeah some of those wipe out other discounts. So it varies.

I only give it as gifts. This was NOT for personal use. 😉
