Smoking areas Quantum of the Seas

Recommended Posts

About to book a balcony room, but want to avoid being above the deck 5 smoking areas.

Has anyone been on board recently to advise of where they are located. the deck plan does not list smoking areas.

The only smoking area is the bus stop - a semi enclosed space. It very rarely affects any cabins even near that.

We were on deck 13 and smelled smoke. I'm pretty sure it wasn't from the smoking section but peeps smoking on their balcony. Although its not allowed peeps still hide and do it. They stay close to their door so they can't be seen when they smoke. Difficult to enforce.

@Tuttsy this ^ - you are more likely to smell smoke from someone doing it on their balcony than from the bus stop. Don't worry about choosing a balcony location due to potential smoke,

Biker, who is waiting for someone to weigh in with an exception.

My wife is allergic to smoke, so I understand your plight. On two cruises we had to change cabins due to smoke making her sick. On quantum class ships, the outdoor smoking are supposed to be deck 5, starboard and on the lido deck (14) port side. Also, unless you are on a cruise out of Southampton (where the ban on indoor smoking extends to cruises departing from the UK), Deck 2 aft is contaminated by smoke from the Casino, so avoid The Grand and Chic MDRs if you can or ask to be seated in the outside aft areas. The music hall is not to bad, but if you are spending a lot of time there (eg. a performance) you might consider sitting in the upper deck.

Deck 5 - starboard side - there is an outside door near the next cruise area

But also, and this is the stupid part, on the Port side of the LIDO deck!

Stay away from any cabins on the starboard side especially those numbered around 632-638.

Deck 6 636 is located directly over and between the two smoking decks. the smoke makes the deck - that you pay extra for, completely unusable - unless you love to smoke all day.

These cabins should be renamed from Smoke Free to Free Smoking. the crowds of noisy smokers of an evening is another reason to stay away.

The smoking problem is real downer and due to the number of people that congregate on the open areas  it is likely that it flows up to a number of decks on the starboard side of the ship. Our balcony was literally a fog of smoke on some afternoons and evenings

We had a tail wind on a recent cruise on another ship we had a tail wind and two tecks above the outdoor smoking area my wife was sick until we moved to a cabin on the other side of the ship. She immediately recovered.
