Seabourn immediately became our favorite cruise line (been on over 100 days since that cruise). Plenty of folks have cruised on Seabourn in AK. So what is your question? MBP&O2/O Posted February 14 #3 Share Posted February 14 Yes, last year. Alaska was good but not impressed with Seabourn. Personal opinion of course.
StollyBolly Posted February 14 #4 Share Posted February 14 We love Seabourn. Never done Alaska on them but cannot imagine it would not be their usual standard.
MBP&O2/O Posted February 15 #5 Share Posted February 15 We booked it for the itinerary. The ship was fine, but, in my opinion, let down badly by the F&B department.
BruceMuzz Posted February 15 #6 Share Posted February 15 (edited) Seabourn has been on a long, slow trip to mediocrity since they were purchased by Carnival. Edited February 15 by BruceMuzz

Harsh 🙂 Not sure we agree, and we have heard differing points of view when aboard their ships. We actively cruise on many lines (including Seabourn) and have heard folks express similar comments (like yours) for every cruise line. The topic becomes amusing on the new Explora Journeys line when their staff insists, "we are not operated like any cruise line" and they become "unhappy" if anyone tried to make a comparison to other lines. The reality is that the so-called luxury lines all have their fans and detractors. In that sense they are not much different than the mass market segment. For the record, one of our future Seabourn bookings does include an Alaskan segment (our 2nd time going to AK with the line). If we were unhappy with SB, we would not be booking their product. It would have been a Fast Trip if it were not for Carnival Corp.
