Bed situation - 4 people in a room

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me how they are handling the beds, particularly the one that comes down from the ceiling, now that they only come in the room once a day? We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and we need to have the beds put up and down each day just to function in the room. We have no problem doing it ourselves as long as they're willing to provide whatever tools we need to do so. If they expect us to keep it down the entire time we're going to have an issue, it's just not feasible for 4 adult bodies to function in those rooms with the bed down, you can't even get to the closet.

Just ask your room steward for what you want. They should be able to accommodate. Even if they aren't doing a full cleaning/turn down twice a day, you should be able to get them to lower the pullman and make up the teens' beds in the evening.

Good luck with that. When the go off duty around 4:30 they are off duty.

Correct, although it may be a little later than 4:30 on some days, depending on the itinerary. And when they would take care of it would also depend on the # of other cabins that have similar requests.

On our last Encore cruise ( December) our neighbors said they just called housekeeping in the evening when they left for dinner and  "someone" came and took care of it while they were out.

Are you certain they have beds in ceiling?  What ship, what category?   The fleet has a wide variety of how a room for four is setup even within a same category.

Last time we were on the Breakaway in a balcony room and the 4th bed was in the ceiling, but that cruise was before they went down to once a day so we didn't have this concern. This time we are on Encore also in a balcony cabin, I guess I just figured they would be the same as on Breakaway.
