What is wrong with MSC Website

Same here. I am getting numerous daily e-mail notifications to book various packages but none of the packages are available when I log in. Is it a common thing with MSC or rather an execption?

Well, check in opened last night and for me at least, neither the app nor the website would let us check in, both on iPhones and on computer. First, couldn’t take the photo. Next, finally accepted the photo but wouldn’t scan the passport, and there was no option to enter the passport information manually. So, rather than get frustrated, I called customer service. Got someone right away with no hold time, and she was very nice and very helpful. Took my information over the phone and emailed my edocs while I was speaking with her. She just said that the photos would be taken at the port, and credit card could be registered then too. Also said they were working on thewebsite issues , so they knew about that already!! That’s the second time I’ve called customer service, and I have been very pleased each time.

I’ve also had the website and MSC for Me issues since last Friday. When I spoke to customer service last evening, the representative said they are working to fix the issue, and that I could always call back to add any services or excursions if I needed them added before the website was fixed. Like I said, the customer service agent was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

I have for years received an error that it can not find my booking.  Yet I go into the check in area and they are listed for check in.  That is when I log in to my user.  If I log using my booking number, I am able to add excursions etc.  I am always afraid to contact them to fix because their IT sucks.  I just assume it has something to do with it being a casino booking.

This still wont work for me. I luv MSC but the website issues are ridiculous!

I called in and booked what I needed over the phone this morning. Much faster and they sent me an updated itinerary that reflected the newly added items I purchased. So, if you still aren’t seeing it, give them a call. I didn’t even have to hold for assistance, they picked up right away. Good luck!

Hi @Two Wheels Only. In my case I tried both, and separately on three different devices.

I'm not (currently) having any issues with any browser but most recently, trying Firefox worked when Chrome didn't. I regularly use both so it wasn't a big deal to try another one. I rarely use Safari but that's also an option.

Photo and card registration is regularly problematic so I never bother. I just do both on embarkation day. The passport info usually works. One time, my expired passport information auto-filled and I didn't notice that it was the wrong one. I was able to get it fixed but it took some work.

Did the eDocs you received show the same "CHECK-IN TIME" that you would have selected if you had been able to check in on line? My experience is that you get a later time that way and the agent you call on the phone is not able to change it. One way around the issue that works if you are on a cruise that leaves from a U.S. port and returns to the same port is to check-in through the app but select an other ID instead of a passport from the drop-down ID list. Then you can type in the info. that is actually on your passport and complete the check-in and get a boarding pass through the app.  This only works with the "MSC for Me" app, not with a browser. You can still present the passport when you arrive at the port.

Hi @actuarian. When I tried online there were no choices for embarkation time…a very late 4-5 pm !! Same time available when I called, even though it was less than 30 minutes after  check in opened. I asked to change it to an earlier time but was told she couldn’t…but, that if I was sailing with friends who had an earlier check in time…I could join them 🤔!! Others on CC have said they really don’t enforce the check in times. Hope that’s true.

I have heard the same thing from others on CC. However, the docs do include the following language (in red) "Do not arrive for check-in before the time indicated. You will be requested to wait outside the terminal until your scheduled time."  So, I do not know what to believe. My eight prior MSC cruises have all been in the YC so check-in times did not matter. However, my next (March) reservation is not in the YC so I guess that I will find out what is true.  Perhaps the fact that I am a Diamond Member will also make a difference.

Well, we will find out in 30 days !! I see the red notification on my edocs too, and it’s been on others from other cruise lines too since they started designating embarkation times. We’ve always gone early and no-one , so far at least , has ever paid attention to it. The representative last night said the time was “ randomly assigned “. I guess they can’t know who is in town early and who is arriving the day of sailing and could benefit from the latest boarding times.

@brucevr6 Same with me, no choice on check-in time. Are you on Seaview too? This whole check-in process is awful. I couldn't even enter my address on the website. And trying to take a photo in the app was a complete waste of time.

Hopefully an update will be coming soon. Yesterday, I just started looking at MSC cruises in general as we plan our next cruise and the site leaves a lot to be desired! It seems a lot of info is on it but it’s harder to find than it should be.

Hi @Jay Es. Yes, on the Seaview T/A from Brazil. My other information including address and passport information was already in my file, but like I said, I couldn’t check in online. The call to do it was quick and easy though, and saved the aggravation.

The docs say not to arrive earlier but many people arrive early because area hotel check-out is usually 11 am and there's usually no other place to go.  When we got to the port at 11:30, the MSC agent told us to go through and not worry about boarding times.  He was telling everyone to move along and get checked in as people were standing around waiting for directions.

@Jamie7777 What was your scheduled time? Mine is 4pm. I don't want to have to sit outside for hours, but you're right, there's no where else to go once you've checked out of your hotel with your luggage.

Our scheduled time was 2:30pm.

Ours was at 3:00. Arrived at 10. No one asked or cared.

Cool...I guess I'll just go early. Hopefully, they let me in. If not then I wait.
