I think there very well could be a refare of the cruise if the person who was given a cut rate or free cruise no shows. I don't receive casino offers myself but have done "regular" no shows without issue.

Yes, this on the newest casino offers.  What the OP posted was a casino offer.  Those offers are targeted.

Well then he can take the chance on it but it is a gamble 😉 ! Carnival wants the people feeding their casino revenue to be onboard I would think.

I can tell you what may happen to passengers that owe money..  The ship sends a notice to the pier side supervisors that passenger X has a 'balance due of x amount of dollars'.  The passenger is flagged in the system, and when the passengers shows up to check-in, he/she is directed to a counter agent.  The passenger is told that they owe x amount, and are asked to initial that they have been told.  The counter agent/supervisor has no information as to why the balance owed is, or from when it was incurred.  If the passenger declines to initial the acknowledgement of monies still owed, the ship is contacted, and they make the decision whether the passenger is embarked.  I have seen passengers flagged to for as little as $12, and upwards of 4 figures.  The passengers who owes a balance are encouraged to talk to Guest Services on board to find out the details.

 

The same flagging system is used to stop passengers who are on the no sail list, but still booked a cruise.  It is also used on passengers who the cruise line preemptively cancelled a passenger's cruise for whatever reason.  I dealt with that situation where we knew in the morning that an individual/party had been informed that their cruise was cancelled administratively, but showed up anyway.  Long story short, they were escorted from the building.  (We are not told why, but just to 'be on the lookout').

 

I think that if someone tries to 'game' the system enough times, the cruise line will respond.

Most of the "what happens to my roommate if I no-show on my casino rate" questions on here come up when plans unexpectedly change.  This one's pretty ballsy for contemplating a fraudulent booking in the first place.

See those questions all the time in Zuckerland social groups, then they complain they aren't getting casino offers.

It’s Called the limbo. How low can you go…Hope they get banned. But I just want to give my family a nice cruise……….

Yes, and that's exactly why Carnival's rule is that the person who got the offer has to sail.

So as long as you know you are going in with somewhat of a risk, then I don't see any issues. It's true they likely won't get the OBC though since that would be tied to your name.

My guess is your family will enjoy the cruise.  After all, anything could happen in an emergency that could keep you from going, so they will give you the benefit of the doubt.

 

Then if you do it again, your family will enjoy that cruise.  Because we all know, once you feel like you got away with it, you'll try it again.

 

Global casino collects and keeps lots of information on their gamblers.  No shows with other people traveling without them is a red flag. 
So at that point, you'll lose your offers.

That's the thing.  People really underestimate how much information the casino dept has on everyone.

@kdr69 I hear ya Kdr, just like on these board, you can get 5 different answers but that also does not make any of them right.   I was just asking for suggestions to see all my options when I posted.  I've decided to gamble and have daughter be a no show.  If it needs to be repriced when I board and I have to pay the additional fare so be it.  Btw, my other daughter had the same offer when this cruise was booked 2 years ago.  It was not tied to any special code, just reduced deposits if booked by X date.

 

Hoping what happened to starstruck05's brother happens to me.  I will report back when I return in case anyone is interested in what happened.

Just to update, daughter was a no show and was reimbursed port fees and excursions booked.  No one mentioned anything, and only “penalty” was lost fare for her booking, which was expected.
