Grand Dutch Cafe not complementary anymore?

Recommended Posts

We just were on Koningsdam to Hawaii and with HIA we were not charged for food or beverages at Dutch Cafe....and I confess to  having two of those DELICIOUS chocolate bombs in 18 days and many capaccinos!

Perhaps they are confused with food and beverage.  The food has always been complimentary, but we've always paid for beverages.

That was what i was thinking.

But its now on the Dutch site under restaurants with additional cost.

I hope its not the case!

Love the Bosche Bol.

I thought it depended on what food you purchased. Some were additional cost as was some of the beverages unless you had HIA or beverage package.

They could be referring to the plastic bags of treats that are an additional cost.  Of course, it could be a mistake (alternative vs. extra charge, for example).

This seems like the right answer - the candies might have extra costs - or I could see them adding costs to some new specialty items.

I read on a Dutch facebookgroup that the food in the Dutch Cafe now have a additional cost.

The food was complementary.

Is there someone who knows more about  this?

If you read it on Facebook. Then it's not true. Just another troll causing problems. 😉

There is also a picture from the new Dutch HAL magazine where the Dutch cafe is now listed as “additional cost”

This was not the case before.

So maybe there are changes coming….

Not likely. The Dutch Café has always been additional cost for coffee and cocktails. It's probably just a clarification.

Not a language I speak.

But I do see the word "additional."

Assuming I translated correctly, it clearly says the snacks are FREE.

it’s the drinks and a couple of the treats in the cellophane wrap that are additional cost.

Thanks.  So then, nothing has changed.  the drinks were always a surcharge.

The snacks are still complimentary 🙂

No cocktails on the Koningsdam there.

But yeah, it was not a speciality restaurant and it is now there listed.

There is a bar at Grand Dutch Cafe on K'dam that serves beer, wine and, yes, cocktails.
