(Princess) Is there a way to charge gambling at the casino directly to my credit card and not the on board account?

My cruise was paid for by a family member, and if I spend any money at the casino I definitely don't want it to be charged to them. I attached my credit card to my account on the medallion app for on board purchases, can I charge payments at the casino this way as well?

If it is like Holland America, Princess's sister company, yes but there will be glitches.  I would recommend doing as you have already done but periodically reviewing the onboard account to be sure it is charging correctly and even going to the guest services desk and paying your onboard account with card in hand.  My sister and I travel together often and as I said occasionally there are glitches and this is how we handle them. (She gambles a lot more than I do)

If you have your credit card attached to your on board account there should be no issues. The system does not care how final payment was made

If you charge to your card Princess puts daily holds on your account.  At the end of your cruise there will be one charge but my holds can take at least a week to 10 days minimum to drop off which affects my available balance.

But the only way you can get winnings is to use your account

Winnings can be accessed at any time through the cashier in the casino.  My point is when you charge to the room Princess puts a hold for those amounts on the credit card every day you do that,

And my CC adjusts my available limit downward until the final charge clears.

Just wanted to clarify as there is a lot of posts about unexpected charges to credit cards when in fact they are pending charges.

I just keep track of casino room charges by watching my Folio on Princess app.

Weve had many Medallion cruises, and so far its been very reliable.

At the end of cruise you can scan your medallion onboard (kiosk near GS desk)

for a paper copy.  Otherwise, I take a screen shot of what it shows on my Folio.

Charge to my cc appears within a day or two off the ship.

I usually bring the cash I plan to gamble with but this time because I needed euros,  pounds and it's a 15-day cruise, I didn't want to carry so much money.  Can I charge my gambling either on table games or slot machines to my room without incurring any surcharges.  Then at the end of my cruise, pay the amount with my VISA?

Here's a crazy question but I'm curious.  If I have leftover "foreign" money towards the last days, can I use them up to gamble?

How does gambling work using the New Medallion gizmo?

Hope all you gamblers win big!

I can answer Yes, to your first paragraph.

Not sure how exactly it works for Table games with medallion.

But its very easy to charge any amount to your cabin using the medallion at the

machines.

You can leave the amount in there and use it thruout the trip, or til its gone.

Can charge more to your room again when you need to, or cash out anytime at the cashier.

Thank you for your quick response.  Still wondering if the casino or customer service areas accept foreign cash.

Someone above once told me to "ask away" so here goes....does the Caribbean Princess have a chapel and if so, do they conduct any services?
