The slot machines seem to have a higher minimum stake as well. Most are 88c minimum

I’m not sure if it’s related, but we were late leaving (around an hour) so possibly anything planned was cancelled

Today’s Golden Lion specials. I’m happier about the lack of curry now that I know there are two mains and a dessert on the specials board every day. Curry appeared one day so it’s not gone completely and we have an expanded menu all in all.

Gammon, egg and chips...wonderful. Almost as good as hot dogs and fried onions on a Gala night.

Now I am seeing too much choice. Bad enough having to  choose between the pie and curry. This is a new level of madness and a different hot pudding. Not going to end well for my weight in July.

Boarding was OK. We had a short wait in the terminal as they had to suspend boarding while a container ship manouvered past QA.

 

Someone mentioned a boutique hotel rather than ship feeling and there's certainly something about the lift lobbies that gives that impression. Not sure what it is.

 

For the first hour and a half our cabin toilet wouldn't flush, but seems to be OK now. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a repeat of QV's maiden voyage.

 

The lower hanging rail in the main wardrobe is too high to allow stuff on the upper rail to hang cleanly without draping over the lower rail but it's OK in the narrow one beside the bed. A total of 30 hangers (20+5+5) in this standard balcony cabin.

 

On QV the full length mirror was inconveniently on the inside of the wardrobe door.  They corrected this on QE by putting it on the outside of the wardrobe facing into the cabin. Having learnt that lesson where do you think they've put it on QA?

 

Edit:I see these portrait photos have also turned sideways. Not sure if HH can do anything with them?

 

That can be a common problem with CC.   To fix (pre-post).   Open Photo on Edit and click the orientation icon 4 times and save.    It has something to do with the way the camera is held when shooting confusing the orientation

A couple of small points I haven't seen mentioned. 

 

The 'do not disturb/please make up my room' signs are now magnetic. You just stick them to the outside of your door.

 

There is a really useful nightlight, at floor level opposite the bathroom door.

 

The casino isn't listed on any of the lift signs.

How does the nightlight function? Is it on permanently. What is it for?

There is a light switch for it by the bed. It’s so you don’t have to leave the bathroom light on, or turn on the main lights should you need to use the toilet at night.

I said this on embarkation day to my partner, but I think for something so small it’s absolutely brilliant

Did you have Beef Wellington, Duck a l'Orange and Baked Alaska on the menu? I saw one posted elswhere with those items but wasn't sure if it was for Britannia. If so, I'll transcribe the menu and post it on the "Queen Anne Menus" thread.
