Princess 3 day sale

I would say it's very likely! Their current "sale" ends this Friday, so I'm expecting some sort of increase...

Also, I have a slight concern that the daily upcharge for the Plus package may exceed $60 per person once the promotion starts. Currently, there is a 61% discount bringing it down to $60 per person, but they can easily reduce the discount rate, resulting in a cost higher than $60 per person when the OBC promotion begins. It might just be a mathematical game. I guess we need to wait and see.

The $60/ day US converts to $82/day CAD, but they charge $88 CAD/ day when I get a quote for my booking.

What would the on board charge be?

For sure,  when looking at a few future cruises, I had one pop up at $64. per day.

Last I looked, it is still showing $60. per day.

Not sure if Princess will do this before this one Promo with one agency???

But, this might be a good heads-up....  If anybody was considering getting the Plus Package, this might be the time to do it.

I believe it’s meant to reflect whatever the Princess exchange rate was when you booked. So if you booked when it was 1.30 but then it changes to 1.35, the rate for the package should still convert as 1.30. At least that’s how it’s supposed to work!

Looking more closely, it would appear that you CAN get the credit if booking standard fare. The marketing spin makes it appear as though that is not the case, but the small print implies it is! I guess we will find out June 6th!

Any more details about standard fare OBC? Same as Plus? $30 pp/ day for BW?

I called - $135 CAD non refundable deposit pp.

OBC for both Standard & Plus

Restrictions on what OBC can be used for.

Will post more if I get more info.

Got 2 on this now giving me answers.  Not my fault. I think I could rebook right now before sale with a refundable deposit with Plus for a bonus inclusion.

Might as well. Last time I saw an OBC sale it consisted of raising the prices of the cruise to cover the OBC.. maybe this will be different?

Most OBC has restrictions. Most notably they typically cannot be used in the casino.

and enforced??? good one

No, seriously ... I've seen that and even mentioned that it 'could' happen someday.  I've never seen a post on here (that doesn't mean it hasn't happened) that someone verified they were not allowed to use OBC in the casino even tho it was stated as such.

Next to go may be that casino workaround about ... 😉

I think the TA made an error- 1 cent more for a mini suite than a BF balcony.  But no reply again.

You are correct! It is now a non- refundable deposit. This puts it in the “no thanks” camp for me…

I went to an “in store” pre sale event with said TA last week as I got a phone call with an invite. They even had a Princess rep on hand to give a presentation and answer a few questions.

The non refundable deposit question did come up. The reply was that too many people were making speculative bookings during the sale and blocking out space and reserving cabins, meaning that as there is no “wait list at sale prices/offers”, others who would like to participate, and perhaps were more likely to actually take the cruise, could not take advantage of the offer as space would most likely not show up again until well after the 3 day sale was over.

NRD was one way to cut down on those speculative bookings. A few years ago, you would read on this bulletin board about people booking 3, or 4 overlapping cruises (impossible to take unless time travel exists) to hold space/cabins and then take a few months to decide which cruise to actually take, before canceling the unwanted cruises and getting their deposits fully refunded.

The current refundable $99 deposit sale has been going on for awhile. If it was such an issue, why haven't they stopped it? Seems odd they would just mention that for a specific 3 day sale while continuously extending the current promo

Sorry, I should have been a little more specific. It was the “3 day” sale TA who gave the NRD explanation. Princess may still offer the $99 refundable deposit offer, but if you want to take the TA 3 day sale with the OBC offer, then the TA is only accepting bookings with NRD.

Looks like the current Princess Promo ends, and there will be something new beginning on the 6th....

Could they make sure that this one promo with this one agency ends up saving almost nothing???  They seem to have extended the current Princess 'Sale' just until June 6th.

Here it is—- lost.

i caved.

Hello, quick question. If we're sailing out of Australia (ship obc and currency in AUD), would the $20/30 obc per person per day be converted from USD to AUD or is it just 1:1? I read their T&Cs but nowhere mentions this. According to Carnival's web, stockholder OBC and princess web booking promo OBC is in AUD.
