It may not be to your liking, but you can't claim that the menu doesn't offer different options. It's not unusual for me to go to a restaurant where I'm not thrilled with the option, or there are things on the menu I don't like......That's life. You also have the option of not going to that restaurant.

Don't like a venue, don't go. And if there are that many places you don't like, I'm sure you can find another cruiseline more to your tastes. (Oh, forgot there won't be a Tastes) 3
BWIVince Posted June 25 #29 Share Posted June 25 Just my $.02... Not worth any more or less than anyone else's. I thought they struck a nice balance with the menu... A lot of people have enjoyed the "global tapas" vibe that Tastes has, so they came up with a menu that's part small plates, part entree. A lot of people said they wanted a steakhouse venue, so this offers a handful of different steaks, an entree steak feature, and a variety of potato offerings and sides/sauces to go with the steaks. It elevates some of the typical offerings, like the salmon, served robata style. ...And it does all this out of an auxiliary galley the size of a postage stamp. I'm sure -- as always -- the specific dishes on the menu will evolve over time, but I think the initial menu is a great starting point at least. No menu, or even venue, is going to please all the people, all the time. Vince

Somehow, I suspect you may not be the target audience for this style of dining. 8 hours ago, Roel94 said: ordered the menu an Asian thing this week..full of red peppers. Thanks....never knew that Asian food would have peppers. I've been warned. BTW....wasn't that issue on Azamara? You make it seem like it was a Crystal Asian dish.

The dinner menu is completely dull, and the lunch menu is completely inappropriate as the sole remaining quasi-sit down daily lunch venue. (Chicken quesadillas and spaghetti with meat sauce? Is there an elementary school lunch lady to dish it up too?) I agree completely. BeefBar will be a very welcome change!! 3
TRIPACIAN Posted July 18 #33 Share Posted July 18 We are booked on the Serenity Ft Lauderdale/ Bridgetown, November 8th, round trip back to Ft. Lauderdale. We booked our dining reservations on the first cruise and Tastes was “not available.” I assume that the conversion to Beefebar is taking place at that time. Does anyone have any update on this conversion? the restaurant reservations are not yet available for the second cruise but hopefully the new restaurant will be open by then. daleandrews Posted July 18 #34 Share Posted July 18 We are on the October 26 23 day cruise from Quebec City to Barbados, so we overlap with your first segment, Ft. Lauderdale to Bridgeton. Strangely, Tastes shows as available for reservations on those days on our schedule. (You may be correct and this may be a glitch in the system since our schedule does not show formal nights, which show up on the schedules for the individual segments)

We are on the same b2b cruises as you. We can reserve Tastes for any evening during the first b2b, FLL-Barbados. The Barbados-FLL return is not yet available. This is apparently another one of those IT inconsistencies. See you in November! Rob & Jim

LNugent Posted September 9 #37 Share Posted September 9 I had dinner last week at Beefbar in Athens. I can’t wait to enjoy it on Crystal. Great food and high quality meat selections with amazing atmosphere. I’m curious what the Crystal menu will look like.
