I hardly ever use USB ports, and for that matter all of our devices use USB-C and I would never expect the QM2 or any cruise ship to have USB-C ports. 

 

 

We have a mixture. I'm old school and have the original  and my husband has a mixture and we were used to taking adapters.

 

We were sent into a state of pure panic last July when we found our refitted/revamped cabin on QV didn't have either and we weren't prepared as 'the cabin  had usb ports' didn't it!!

 

Deck 6 doesn't!!

I've been posting the daily programs and menus in PDF format since it's multiple pages and thought it would be easier for viewing.   Would pictures be better?  Definitely would be less work on my part than converting and combining in PDF format.

Sorry to read of your QG Dining room issues with most of your food since you have boarded, to the point that your Wife does not now wish to go for Breakfast in the QG....I too would be very unhappy.

However,
If your Head Waiter and Maitre 'D are not made aware of these problems then they simply cannot put things right for you.
I can assure you they will be mortified of the problems, and they will rectify things at once for you. 

If they do not know then they cannot put it right, and I can safely assure you that when on Cunard before whenever I had an issue with food and/or service in the MDR/Lido/Kings Ct/or Grills then it has always been attended to with a very good end result.

I agree with Host Hattie that it is most prudent that you have a quiet and constructive word with your Heads of delivery in your restaurant, I am quite sure they will redeem themselves.

I agree with all the comments posted previously. We have stayed in QG on QV, QE and QM2 and have enjoyed amazing food and service, BUT in all 3 cases we did have cause to mention a couple of things early on (we like our food hot, and cooked as ordered, ie rare, not medium steaks). In all cases, the problem was rectified, not repeated and we enjoyed super food and service for the remainder of the cruises. I agree that you shouldn't 'have' to do this, but we felt that it was definitely the lesser of the evils. 

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip. We have never done a TA, and will be onboard QM2 for our first one in a few month's time.

Hoping that the dining experience improves for you.

Well, happy to give praise when praise is due.

I've sailed on a number of ships since Starlink was installed and while it's been better than before, nothing comes close to this - I am currently getting between 25 and 60 Mbps down! Admittedly only one and a bit up, but it's working very well.

 

I am a little concerned about my cabin fridge - it's cycling on and off very frequently, like 30 secs on, 5 secs off, repeat and repeat. Is this normal? It's clearly audible and disturbs me as I keep thinking the door must be open, but it's not.

It's the sort of fridge where it's door is attached to the cupboard door - I've looked to see if I can detach it as I suspect the fridge door is being held slightly open by the cupboard door but no luck.

I'm not sure asking my steward will help - he seems keen but after failing on the foam pillow issue when you tell me they should be available, I don't know if he is the type of steward who is always smiling and helpful but doesn't actually achieve much. I had been out of my cabin for a long while yesterday evening but when I returned after dinner, he hadn't serviced it.

Time will tell ...

If you raise your concerns with Osman, we are sure he will do everything he can to address them.  We have always found him to be approachable & accommodating, so don't hesitate to speak with him should the need arise.

Went to the lounge and the concierge was very nice and let me know that on the US Grills Promo that the drinks are charged and then credited back the next morning at 10:30 a.m.   I'll have to keep an eye on that.  I remember reading posts about signing each drink tab, but didn't realize that things are charged then reversed.  Good to know.  

 

I also forgot to mention last night that we went to the casino and asked for the non-smoking section and was informed that there is no smoking in any area of the casino.   Bravo Cunard!   We're super excited to spend some time in a smoke free casino.   That's brilliant.   I'm sure I knew this at some point, but now that we're on board it's really nice to know.

Queen Anne has multiple combined A & C installations in all cabins. They seem to share a 2.4A output.

 

I was on an ITA Airways A220 in economy recently with 60W output USB-C ports on the seat backs. The flight wasn't long enough to need to try it out.

 

With the lead time from specifying to delivery they will always be a bit behind the latest technology.

Wow!  That's great that the Queen Anne has both A & C in the cabins.  It's going to take a long time for USB-A ports and cables to go away (if ever).   I was so glad when the EU pushed Apple to go to USB-C.  I don't think they would have ever done it without that push.   So, thank you EU.

I would recommend that you speak to your steward about the issue. When we were on the QM2 two weeks ago, we had an issue with our cabin being hot despite the AC controls being on the coldest settings. I spoke to the steward about it in the morning. He first tried to rectify the problem himself but when that didn't work he got maintinance on it. By the time we dressed for dinner the problem was resolved.

On west bound TA's the clocks move BACK at 2:00AM. On east bound TA's the clocks move FORWARD at noon. This happens 5 times on each Crossing.

Ask and ask again.  We had a broken AC control in our cabin last year.  Only after the 2nd request was maintenance called to fix it.  And that was in QG.  

 

Likewise, ask again about the pillows!

Thanks RK-NC!  Yes, today is going much better.  We went to lunch and had a very lovely meal.   We started with the tomato tart with blue cheese and it was so good we forgot to take a picture.   Next we had ravioli and ended the meal with sticky toffee pudding.  All the food was served at the right temperature and served at a perfect pace.  The best part of the meal was that Osman came over and asked if we're okay for dinner (which we were struggling on what we would eat) and he offered to have something made for us.  We took him up on the offer, so we'll see how that works out.   I think we might actually try breakfast there tomorrow morning.

In all honesty - we had everything on this QG lunch and dinner menu in Britannia restaurant on QV within the last month - except for the lobster.  Not that impressed with the options in QG given the significant price difference and would be looking to order more off menu.

Hi Jack,

 

Yes, lobster and also Chateaubriand.   We really like beef tenderloin, but think that it's tough to cook Chateaubriand to the temperature that we prefer.    Unfortunately, neither us eat seafood, or we would definitely have had the lobster.   Both our families would go crazy for the lobster. 

 

Lunch is QG was great today.   So, maybe everything was embarkation day pressures.

No, that isn't normal, indeed the fridge should not disturb you at all. I think I did have a fridge like that once, and it was about midnight when I realised. So I dug around a bit and simply unplugged it for the night. It was still quite chilly in the morning, when I did have a word with the steward. From what I recall it's a common issue which is easily fixed, as it was in my case.

Wow. You are finally enjoying the cruise.  So maybe it will be an overall good review after the 6 days. I have hope!
