hazeleyes46 Posted June 21 #1 Share Posted June 21 Has anyone done this and is it worth the money? What if you don't drink alcohol? Do you still pay the same price and you can get something else to drink?
Rare ceilidh1 Posted June 22 #2 Share Posted June 22 It's a lot of fun - I'm pretty sure it's a set price regardless of if you drink alcohol or not. You get a different, specialty drink at each bar and do various games/challenges/ice breakers. It's a great way to get to meet people the first night but you have to go in with the intention of socialising. If you only talk to the folks you are actually sailing with then it's pretty pointless. It ends at the PJ party, which was also a blast. I will definitely do it again on my next trip in Feb!
Jaquisam Posted June 23 #3 Share Posted June 23 I hated it. I didn’t expect the organised fun aspect of it and found the games excruciating. i thought it would be more low key.

neverendingcruising Posted June 28 #5 Share Posted June 28 We almost always do the grog walk. Fun way to meet your fellow sailors and the happening cast plus is forces us to stay up and go to the PJ party.
Rare cantgetin Posted June 28 #6 Share Posted June 28 Yes, same price whether alcoholic or not. It wasn't my "thing" although others love it. I drink very little, and found the games to be not to my taste. On the good side, meeting some of the Happenings Cast was a positive and can lead to some special interactions throughout the cruise.
Rare Tyler414 Posted June 28 #7 Share Posted June 28 Does the grog walk sell out fast? I don’t have a boarding time until 3:15 I’m a little concerned it will be sold out by then… I plan to drop my luggage around noon, could I connect to the ships Wi-Fi at that time to book it? Or do I actually have to be on the ship to connect and book? Thanks.

The trick with Virgin is to stalk the app - often people end up cancelling and things open up even after being sold out. The other very fun event was the Lotteria, which was a bingo type game with unlimited Margaritas...thanks to @MeganGC1983 for recommending that one! 1

Rare cantgetin Posted June 29 #10 Share Posted June 29 The 2 groups on Grog Walk visit the same places but in different order and with different members of Happenings. It is essentially the same experience no matter which one you do.
dreamer321 Posted July 15 #11 Share Posted July 15 (edited) I was looking through an old "A GLANCE AT THE DAY" planner and it lists two different grog walks one lasting one hour and one lasting two hours. Is this correct? different lengths of the Grog Walk? Do they go to more bars? Also, does anyone know the current price of the Grog Walk. I know it will change before my cruise since my cruise isn't until April 2026 but I just want to get a rough idea of what to expect. Thanks in advance. Rare cantgetin Posted July 15 #12 Share Posted July 15 The two grog walks have always been the same with different starting locations. The two are just to allow 2 groups. And they always end at the PJ party. In general, prices have changed on each of my cruises....for lots of things. Hate to quote because of that, but about $50 (and if it is $40 you can be pleasantly surprised).
MoNurse Posted September 18 #13 Share Posted September 18 Is the Grog walk offered on Resilient Lady? I would love to drag my husband along to something like that! Stationed in England for 6 yrs and have been on a few PUB CRAWLS 😉 Also, is this one that can only be reserved with the ships wifi, not from home like shore things? Thank you in advance!

Grab it as soon as you board--it fills quickly. There are usually 2 listed. They are the same except that the bars are in different order.....done so more people can participate.
Rare jwattle Posted September 26 #16 Share Posted September 26 So...since it ends at the Pajama Party, we wear pajamas to the Grog Walk, yes? 🙂

creef1014 Posted September 27 #19 Share Posted September 27 On our last sailing in July they had multiple Grog Walks, on 2-3 different nights, so selling out was not as big of an issue as it was on our first trip.
Rare cantgetin Posted September 28 #20 Share Posted September 28 When planning for the PJ party, remember that it can be cooler than anticipated on deck at night with the ship moving at a good clip. Weather is obviously variable.
