They have to be considering at least a mild refit of that space, and include the librarian in the new setup... If they just throw the books in that fugly cave as it exists today, Crystal's loyalists are going to riot. Vince 2

No impact on the Librarian which was confirmed by the CEO. Also, I am sure they will need to lock the books up at night and check them out and the librarian would continue to do the same functions as they do today including recommending books to order based on guest feedback, unpacking new books, letting guests know when a book is returned, etc., etc., etc. Keith
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 26 Author #28 Share Posted June 26 Hot off the press. Update from Crystal. Keith *Casino Update* Greetings Crystal Society Members, After listening to your feedback regarding the casino since our announcement yesterday, we have a few updates to share: · The Library will remain where it is on both ships and not be changed. · Bridge will be played in the Lounge on both ships during designated Bridge Hours. For tournaments, we will ensure that there is no flow of passengers through the Lounge to guarantee no interruptions during play. Additionally, Bridge play equipment will be provided in The Lounge during this time. While we appreciate everyone’s feedback, no further modifications will be made, and this is the final configuration. We hope you are as excited as we are about bringing back the casinos to Crystal. 7

Well, hallelujah. Perhaps the accountants finally took a closer look at the expense and disruption that would occur with the previous concept. Until it changes again....😆🤔 Rob

Hooray! I’m so glad the libraries will remain where they are. They are such a joy to so many. There was no reason to move multiple locales around. This makes much more sense. 4
BWIVince Posted June 26 #32 Share Posted June 26 I appreciate them listening, this makes a lot more sense. Still not the best plan, but life is full of tradeoffs, and something has to give either way. Vince

I doubt if Monaco Casinos even knows of the existence of anything under a $25 table. And I'll be more inclined to find $50 minumums and $5 and $10 slots. With then three coins as well. All those "I like to just play a little to pass the time" folks are going to find out it's not the same as it was. My black chip worth.

Mercedes Jazz Posted June 26 #36 Share Posted June 26 I applaud Crystal for going upscale on their choice of casino operators. I'm not sure how there association with Barfbar came about, but I think that was a big mistake, although easily rectified on a new ship. 2

Time till tell the success either way -- I have no prediction how it will go at this point, but the concept-agnostic venues like this are always easily flipped. crickette Posted June 26 #39 Share Posted June 26 (edited) I value the big windows in the libraries and bridge lounges, both of which I use during daylight hours. The casinos lure me late at night, and big windows won't add any value to me at that time of day. So I am a little disappointed to lose the big windows in the bridge lounge. The only time we spent in the casino was when it was our lifeboat station! History&Wine Posted June 29 #42 Share Posted June 29 I too am glad the library will stay as is. i enjoy the library with natural light. If the casino is going to be in what is now the bridge lounge having higher limits makes sense. Smaller venue casinos are not geared for the casual players. In my opinion...good moves all around.

Smaller venue casinos are not geared for the casual players. I hadn’t thought of this - but the bridge room is small so this makes perfect sense. And the choice of casino operators will make it more sophisticated and upscale than a mass market line. Very good venue choice now that I mull it over a bit. Maybe a few who love to sit at slots will be disappointed, there probably won’t be room for a big bank of those (which is fine with me). Again, that keeps it sophisticated. allinthesameboat Posted July 1 #45 Share Posted July 1 Crystal no longer resembles what it used to be when passengers got a great bang for their buck. Now the prices have skyrocketed and their attempt to satisfy the call for the return of the casino by engaging a Monaco outfit is pretentious. I agree with you, FlyerTalker, about Monaco casinos. I was devoted to Crystal before it was sold, mismanaged, and went into the river cruise market where it did not belong! So, farewell, Crystal.
