lincslady Posted June 29 #26 Share Posted June 29 I took that as a joke, suggesting people would deliberately ignore it, as seems to be happening now and again with 'service' dogs.
kalos Posted June 29 #27 Share Posted June 29 I see no issue unless you DUCK the issue and if they bother you do not look for them . Madness and QUACKERS to do otherwise .

lancashire_cruisers Posted June 29 #31 Share Posted June 29 This thread has given me a good laugh 😂. I can’t imagine getting so heated by rubber duckies 1

smokey01 Posted June 29 #33 Share Posted June 29 I never look for ducks on a cruise but on our last Arvia cruise on the first day I used the Thermal Suite and when I went to spin my swimming costume in the changing room dryer someone had left a little plastic duck in it. It brought a smile to my face and I now have it on the corner of my bath at home as a ‘cruise’ reminder. That said I went on to find the dryer was out of order and it never was fixed during the 14 day cruise!
Fitzplumbago Posted June 29 #34 Share Posted June 29 You quack me up Jean! You asked a similar question last year… Seriously though, whatever floats your boat, ship or duck in this case! The last duck I’ve seen was on Iona in February, outside the Olive Grove, hanging from a wall decoration. Didn’t spot any on Sky Princess.
Sussexboy Posted June 29 #35 Share Posted June 29 We had one left on our cabin number sign on Arvia. We left it there and it disappeared soon after.
Rare david63 Posted June 29 #36 Share Posted June 29 I have to admit to being another who does not understand this American phenomenon of hiding/finding ducks on a cruise ship - especially an adult only ship. But each to their own and if it enhances somebody's holiday then it can't be all bad!

lincslady Posted June 29 #43 Share Posted June 29 The kitten and ducklings video is one of the strangest things I have ever seen; enchanting but inexplicable. Anyone know if this is really unusual? I have seen the occasional dog looking after kittens etc., but this seems really odd.

It is not unusual for baby birds to bond with the first person or animal they see even when not a parent.

Plenty worse things can happen on a ship and this isn't one of them surely. It's a bit of fun.. unless you don't find one.🤣

lincslady Posted June 29 #48 Share Posted June 29 Regarding the kitten - appearing to lead them to water was what struck me particularly, or am I being a bit dim? It just looked as if the kitten knew what to do instinctively.
Cpt Pugwash Posted June 29 #49 Share Posted June 29 It's probably playing towards the British mentality i noticed on my first cruise if there's a competition as in this case find more than everyone else just as in the quizes no matter how srap the Prize is there Desperate to Win.
