cocomom99 Posted July 7 #1 Share Posted July 7 I have spent hours researching online for this answer. We are looking at a cruise on RCC Voyager of the Seas. It's hard to tell from the few pictures I've seen, so here is my question: I am wondering if there's any obstruction from Deck 7 Room #7288. I read they can be ‘cave-like’. Would a cabin on Deck 8 be a better choice? My choices are: Deck 7, #7288 – or Deck 8, #8282?
Another_Critic Posted July 7 #2 Share Posted July 7 (edited) The 'cave-like' is due to the balcony being built into the hull vs. added on. Voyager, Explorer, and Adventure are built into the hull. Navigator and Mariner are added on. https://voyager-class.com/design/process/comparison/comparison.html Edited July 7 by Another_Critic
elaine5 Posted July 7 #3 Share Posted July 7 Just on Explorer last summer. This is what they look like. Solid wall on either side, so not as "open" as other ships. 7th floor. It was fine. 1
cocomom99 Posted July 7 Author #4 Share Posted July 7 Does anyone know - Is there a difference in the balcony on Deck 7, #7288 – or Deck 8, #8282?
Coralc Posted July 7 #5 Share Posted July 7 I would probably go with deck 8, because I can't remember which decks had the steel balconies. Ours was glass, and it was higher, so probably deck 8.

I actually like this design as it provides more pricacy and noise protection.

Absolutely no difference between the balconies for these two cabins.
taglovestocruise Posted July 7 #9 Share Posted July 7 Only difference is personal choice. For us higher is always better.
