Day 1 of the new Premier Package has arrived

We had the $12 pizza in Alfredo's on Sky with no issue as part of our included options.

Interesting.  We usually get the premier package and asked point blank and was told it wasn’t included.  We really didn’t want one but was just asking for this forum.

Or, just call the dine line, if you’re in your cabin early.

If you can get them to answer. Decidedly mixed results on my last cruise.

When I booked my 2 free SDs about 3 months ago I also got this screen ie $90 etc. However when I clicked on reserve, the balance showed as zero and my credit card hasn't been charged. Don't know if this helps.

Well, it's definitely interesting, but in our case, not so helpful.  We've read lots of accounts of the charge(s) actually going through, and then people having to deal with getting their charges recouped once on the ship.

Given the price of this new Premier and that we had planned on reserving 8 of our 14-night cruise, we have no intention of "trying it out" to see what happens! 😂

It just seems so crazy to us, that we'd never had an issue at all reserving the 2 comp SD that came with the previous Premier, and knew what to look for in the process; and now, with the new Premier having been included, the App is acting all squirrelly on us.  The App is the App ... shouldn't it act the same for everybody?

One CSR actually told us "some people (with Premier) see the cost zeroed out, and others don't.  It depends if you're one of the lucky ones!"

I don't want to be judge -y, but that doesn't seem like an appropriate comment!

Ocean "NOT" Ready ... sigh

Well, I am Ocean Ready, but not much else has gone right- still blocked  and no reservations for 3 nights. I can go to Sanctuary restaurant- walk in and American dinner I think.

Usually after 10 minutes of waiting to exchange our setup, I give up & go to lunch. I would hate to have to remain on hold for 30 minutes just to make reservations for SD.

If you are talking about exchanging your elite or suite mini bar just tell your steward they will have room service take care of it for you. We always wait till day 2 because embarkation day can be a little crazy

I believe this is correct.  I asked, not because I wanted it but wanted to report on it, if the $12 pizza was included in the price fixed menu at Alfredo’s.  It is not.
Also, the sushi tacos are not included in the unlimited casual dining.

It seems to depend on the ship (or did). On Discovery I was told no; on Regal I was told no problem.

We were able to get pizza to go from Alfredo’s on the Majestic if we went over to order them from restaurant manager.  It wasn’t bad waiting as we were getting a glass of wine over at Good Spirits.  They have these spiffy reusable to go containers and we took them up to our balcony to enjoy our freshly made customized pizza.  If we ordered it via the app, there would have been a charge involved.  I’m not even sure if those pizzas are made at Alfredo’s because they only have 3 options, not like at Alfredo’s.  The pizzas are smaller and don’t have that fabulous crust.  Plus, they come with a charge.  I’m not sure if all the ships even have that option but the Majestic does.

My notation wasn't regarding cabin availability, rather it was SD availability.

I somehow don't really believe that there are no reservations remaining but if I can't get them prior to sailing, we'll definitely cancel the Premier package. It SD was the only reason we upgraded to it.

I hate to bother the cabin steward with the exchange. It's not an important item to us.

All I can tell you is there was zero availability at Teppanyaki and two days of availability over our 14 day cruise at Crown Grill, and the availability was 810 on.  We like to eat between 530-600.  This was all on the app.

I was able to get availability on our 14 days in January.  Teppanyaki was only available at 500 over the first 7 days, the last 7 days had zero availability.

I was told no on Majestic in May when asking if I could have the $12 pizza instead of an app and/or dessert.

I can’t say much about the Sun but I can tell you that on the Majestic, there was no availability through the app for the days we wished to dine.  When we got onboard, we were given exactly what we wanted. This was before the new premier package, but nothing on the app doesn’t really equate to nothing once onboard.  Be prepared to ask for earliest dining times, though.

Early is what we want.  We'll do the first 500 seating at Teppanyaki and try for 540 elsewhere.  We have them all lined up for our 14 days (13/14) on the Sun in January, but are waiting for our 14 over Halloween on the Sun until we embark.  This way I can use 400 in OBC and 440 in gift cards for the upgrade from Plus.

On the Sun there is no race for sanctuary space, now it's Specialty Dining space. 😄

We are also going to use our onboard credit to upgrade to the premier package next month.  However, we don’t intend to eat dinner every night, maybe 4, possibly 5 out of 11 nights.  We are super flexible so, whatever days they can give us will be fine with us.  They usually tell us to come in at 5 PM on the dine line so, we will get the time we wish to have.

They always try to put us early for embarkation suite dinner and we have to tell them no after 7:30 please. That would free up your 5:00. LOL

Love that!  🤣

We try to never go to a SD restaurant on embarkation day.  We tend to be a bit tired on that first night after a couple celebratory cocktails so usually, we like to go on the second night.  We will probably just hit up Alfredo’s or the PES happy hour on the first night, especially if we have gone to the embarkation lunch.
But thanks for freeing up that early dining for us.  I certainly do appreciate that.

It’s really funny to think we used to pop in for dinner at 9 PM in our past lives.  We never could understand who wanted to eat dinner at 4 PM.  That changed to 7:30 PM, then to 6 PM and now, the earlier, the better.  We are officially ‘old farts’ now.  We are usually off to bed before the 10:30 PM comedy show rolls around.  I don’t even bother to look at the events that start after 10 PM on Journeyview.  We used to close the casino down .. yep, also in our past life.  😆

I hope that's the case on the Sun.

If we get on board & there isn't anything remotely close to what we'll accept, I'm not sure at that point if they'll let us cancel the package?

So far we haven't been able to make even one reservation.

My fingers are crossed.  We go at the end of the month and so will report back to you.  But, we are not going on the Sun so, that my experience may not reflect what happens to you.

That is the key phrase.

Hope you have figured out that the APP makes it very easy to go thru day-by-day to see what "Specialty" are available day to day. But unfortunately, we are not interested in any of the "availables" now even for our 2nd free specialty on the SunP for any date between Sep14 to Oct 9. Maybe once we board we may find some hidden venue.

I believe if they were hidden someone would have found them by now

We're on the Sun from 10/26-11/9 and currently there is nothing available except two nights after 810 at Crown Grill.  We'll wait until embarkation day to purchase the upgrade and make reservations.  Obviously I'll make reservations starting on night two and go forward in case there is a snag and we have to cancel.  Don't want to make embarkation night reservations and the get nailed with the 20 per couple cancellation fee if we can't get reservations for subsequent nights of our B2B sailing.
