Rare Stealthdog Posted September 11 #1 Share Posted September 11 (edited) Hey all - we are going to head to Fort Lauderdale tomorrow for an unplanned B2B on the Reflection. We had some vacation days to use before the end of September and this will get us to Elite status for our December cruise. Cruise 1 Sep 13th - Fort Lauderdale Sep 14th - Nassau Sep 15th - Coco Cay Sep 16th - Fort Lauderdale Cruise 2 Sep 16th - Fort Lauderdale Sep 17th - At Sea Sep 18th - Coco Cay Sep 19th - Bimini Sep 20th - Fort Lauderdale I don't plan to do a full live review this time because the 3 and 4 day cruises are just so quick. I'll post some of the daily events, menus, etc. The only excursion we have is Baha Mar in Nassau on the 14th. We have been wanting to check out Baha Mar to see if its something we would want to do a full week at (we have done Atlantis twice). Surprisingly it was cheaper to get the day pass through Celebrity than buy it from Baha Mar direct. We booked these cruises through the Casino and upgraded to Aqua Class. If anyone has any questions or are looking for information on the Reflection, Aqua - Blu and Spa, etc, feel free to ask. Rare Stealthdog Posted September 15 Author #10 Share Posted September 15 We are cleared to enter Coco Cay. Next to the Utopia of the Seas so lots of people here today. I’ll post menus at end of the 2nd cruise because I think the menus get repeated. Same with entertainment. Should have some downtown tomorrow when we get back to Fort Lauderdale and will give info on back-to-back details and maybe Baha Mar if I have time. i think this 3 day and the next 4 day are going to be radically different (number of guests, demographic of guests, etc), so I’ll do a comparison at the end.
NCTribeFan Posted September 15 #11 Share Posted September 15 Thanks for sharing. I'll be on a side-to-side in November (Reflection 5 nights to Beyond 6 nights). I've only sailed X once, a 5-night sailing on Summit a couple of years ago. That was a side-to-side from Summit to MSC Seashore, which was rather a shock. I much preferred Summit. Seashore was way too big and too many large family groups with lots of kids, even in mid-April. Anyway, thanks for sharing the dailies.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the dailies. We just did the Seashore this year with a large group from my sports league in Orlando. I really didn’t care for the MSC brand, but it was a weekend cruise with a group. But yeah, too many families and because it’s a low budget line, you get a low budget product (imho). We loved the Beyond btw - you will probably find the Edge class ships much different. Edited Monday at 01:36 PM by Stealthdog
Rare Stealthdog Posted Monday at 01:35 PM Author #13 Share Posted Monday at 01:35 PM Information on B2B. It looks like there is about 50-60 of us. Everyone was instructed to meet at the Tuscan Grille at 9am. We got paraded off the ship - turned in our Seapass card, so you don’t get to keep it as a souvenir. It’s a long walk to the holding area so you may want to keep your bags in your room. The Rebel Band, the Boy Group, and the comedian Lamont Ferguson is with us, so it’s fun to see the entertainers in a normal environment. When we got to the holding space in the port building they handed us our new sea pass cards, so we already have them before boarding the ship today. Waiting to be lead back on the ship now. Jaworskym Posted Tuesday at 04:50 PM #21 Share Posted Tuesday at 04:50 PM We did a similar B2B in May, with just one Coco Cay stop. Turnaround day was a breeze. We went to Blu for breakfast and made our way to the Tuscan Grill at 9am. They escorted us off the ship to customs waiting area at 9:30, then back on the ship at 10:05. We had to change rooms down the hall a bit but the Cabin Steward brought our bags over around 10:30. Got unpacked again and it was pretty sweet wandering around the ship from 11-12 without a crowd. You can go to Resorts World at Bimini but we decided to try Paradise Beach, which is the public beach at the end of the pier. Set up camp on a big rock under the the pier and had a great 3 hours at the beach. Even better, didn't spend a dime 1

Jaworskym Posted Wednesday at 06:15 PM #23 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:15 PM There are chairs and umbrellas to rent at Paradise Beach for a hefty price. One guy I talked to said it was $50 for the day. You could probably haggle with them. Also, there were a handful of food/drink trucks right there.

If you don’t mind saying.. We had the interior free cruise. We paid about $1200 combined for the upgrade to Aqua and the taxes and port fees for the 3 & 4 day cruises (stayed in same cabin). So the two cruises came out to $1200 (not including daily gratuities).
