Sounds like a great cruise.  I'm finally catching up on reading cruise critic.  

We're on the Infinity again December 2025.

Tonight’s menu 

 

It’s the starters night👌🏻

 

We had carpaccio, apple pear salad. Charlotte went for short ribs and ended up having drum fish 🐟 

 

 

 

 

 

Food tasted good 👍🏻 

Charlotte really enjoyed the meats😋

She sends her “condolences” to the chef who makes all the plates of beef carpaccio…. 

It’s thin cuts and you need to pay attention during the plating and cutting. So that was a really star 🌟 from C🙂

 

Short ribs was also appreciated by C, plate was wiped clean😋😋😋

 

Drum fish was okey, the fish itself is good. 

 

Dessert menu

 

C had crème brûlée and just had an espresso macchiato. 

 

After dinner, it was time for the love & marriage show😂😂😂 (its a long time since they had it on during one of my cruises😅 finally back👌🏻🤣)

 

Charlotte wanted to go, so we went straight from dinner to the show. 

 

 

They selected 3 couples, one married 9-days, one married 45 years and one married 47-years. 

All couples were “bjuda på” as the swedes would have said…. 

It’s fun and the entire theatre had some really interesting answers to laugh 😆 off. 

It was CD Kelly and activity manager Mariana hosted the show. 

CD Kelly took a completely different side compared to what she has given impression off. 

She was more of what I want to see and hear from a CD. So that was a positive experience. (Those who followed the June 29 sailing ⛵️ know that either Mr or me was very sold on her) 

Well I see glimpses off what I like about CD, so she’s defrosting for me🤣💙👌🏻

 

After the show, it was way over bedtime 🥱

@Norwaylady Continuing to enjoy your live review.  We are sweltering here int he Caribbean where it is hot and humid this time of year.  Reminds me of why we usually to North Eastern US/Canada cruise in September and October.

Kavala

 

The girls are out on adventure🌟😎

I booked a winery and the amfi theatre tour via X on sale. It was 50% off. So it was a decent price and trip of things I wanted to do in Kavala region outside of the city centre. 

 

A few weeks ago I received a email from X. Our tour was changed to just winery. I didn’t do anything active about it. 

They offered refunds if cancelled. 

No other tours were available or interesting. 

 

We started our day in Tuscan, captains club breakfast💙⚓️💙

I went for overnight muesli, oj and tea. 

 

Charlotte wanted to try a new plate 🍽️ 

So she ordered the ultimate platter🤣 

I didn’t warn her😅😆

 

Her eyes 👀 when the plate arrived was 😮😂

I helped her out with the food😋😉

 

Then we went to the theatre to collect our tour stickers and wait for departure. 

 

It was only us and another group waiting to be called out. 

We waited around 5.minutes before we could go downstairs to our tender.

Tender ride was around 20.minutes from the ship to the pier. 

Our bus was waiting at the pier. 

It was a completely full load, no seats empty. 

The guide was friendly and talked about Kavalas history on the way to the winery. 

The travel time was 50.minutes. 

 

We passed the Phillipi amfi theatre on the way. 

So we could see it from the bus window. (No visit, but you could see the size) Think Ephesus/Acropolis amfi theatre😉 

 

We arrived at Oeno Genesis winery in Adriani. 

5.minutes later bus nr 2 arrived. From the ship… 

Group 9+10. 

Two full buses. 

Oh, YES. 

A full winery 😜

 

The location was beautiful. Really nice, house was built in Macedonian style. 

The winery tour was held by the owner, Alex. 

The group was on the laaaaarg size. 

So it was an express experience. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The tasting was decent. 4-wines. Some charcuterie and cheese to accompany the wine. And chocolate for the dessert wine. 

But compared to the private tours we usually do. This is to “rush” and go. 

 

 

 

 

 

Book a private winery tour and you will taste some of the premium burgundy wines and more exclusive touches😅

 

Charlotte was happy, she has never visited a winery and done a tasting like this. 

 

Afterwards we returned to the pier.

We had more plans for the day…. 

No tender home yet😂😅👌🏻

 

We walked back from the pier to the fortress. Uphill it is😂😉 Charlotte was maybe not to happy about the idea😅😅😅

But we made it to the top! 

 

 

 

Lovely view of the city and aqueduct. (This city has a lot of beautiful decor of houses in neo classic style)

Due to the fact of being a tobacco town, the area is filled with beautiful neo classical architecture. Worth a walk just for the view.

Then we walked downtown and by the waterfront. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charlotte wanted grilled sardines for lunch. 

So at 15.00 we decided it was time🐟🐟🐟

 

We found a fish restaurant and ordered a Greek 🇬🇷 buffet for us🇬🇷⚓️🇬🇷

 

 

 

 

After our feast of Greek delicacy we decided to go for the pier and jump on a tender💙⚓️

We arrived back on the ship 16.35.

Charlotte wanted to go for the mixology party (why not😜) 

So I said that we need to take a Clarke Kent….

Off the stairs in a hurry and a quick shower and change of clothes🤪✔️

Yep 👍🏻 we made it to the mixology party 🍸

 

Today’s menu: 

 

 

The house band accompanied the flair show🎶

 

So it was business as usual😇

After the mixology session… I was still feeling good🤣🥰 ( I donated my drinks to the photo session and my pims to Charlotte🤪) 

The pims had a large piece of pineapple 🍍 on the side, so a NO-go 🙅 and Manhattan is not my cup of tea. 

The Mai-Tai was okay, but I’m not the biggest drinker onboard🤣🤣🤣 (Charlotte on the other hand is a fancy pancy drink drinker! And she hasn’t got it from me😜) So I just had a sip and was happy with the show🍸😂👌🏻

 

Charlotte was ready for some ice cream 🍦 (we didn’t have any ice cream in town… so it was important biz for her) 

We sat on the terrace during sail away from Kavala. 

 

Charlotte needed to charge the phone and finish her IG and snap chat 💬 for today… so she went to the balcony in our room and I went for tonight’s show. 

 

Tonight’s show was flutist Andrea from Spain.

The Martini flair has started every night before the 7’o clock show has made it back to grand foyer after the show. (CD Kelly are to happy to talk on stage after the show😆) 

 

Charlotte has really disliked this…

So tonight, since she didn’t see the show with me, she arrived in the Martini Bar a little bit before the flair flight…. (Clever girl) 

So tonight she saw the full flair 🥳🥳🥳

not all ships provide them. it depends on the sailing route. And I think it depends on the ships policy also🤔

In the Caribbean it tends to be 50/50 if we have them. 

On all 3 sailings on INF this year they have delivered them on the bed inside the cruise compass. 
Last year on my b2b they also delivered them.

Tonight’s dinner 

 

Menu

 

We had shrimp 🍤 cocktail, gnocchi and chicken cordon blue….. but it ended up with turkey 🦃 

 

 

Shrimp 🍤 cocktail was good as always, the gnocchi tasted good 👍🏻 

But the chicken cordon blue was not on point. It was very dry🫣

So Charlotte asked, can I get something else? 

Off course! 

 

Then the turkey 🦃 arrived in 1-2-3. 

It looked super juicy and smelled good 👍🏻 

Charlotte was very happy and said it was perfect 👌🏻 

 

Tonight two of the main chefs were out and about in MDR talking with guests and checking if someone is unsatisfied. 

They were escorted by one sone manager each. 

Let’s just say I know them🤭….

So when they arrived at our table, the manager almost fainted when I said hello 👋🏻 nice to see you again! 

😂😂😂😂😂

He was happy, he said that I thought he saw me one evening when we walked out, but he was very sure that it wasn’t me😆 just someone looking similar to me🤣🫣 

Well her I am😘👋🏻

 

If you forget about the cordon blue tonight, so far the food has tasted good and delivered💙👌🏻

I went for ice cream and espresso.

Cruise Compass Day 7 Thessaloniki

It was no rush this morning. 

So we took it easy🥱

 

We went for breakfast around 09.30. 

The buffet was decent attended. 

I picked up my usual breakfast and went to the terrace. 

 

After breakfast we went to get ready for a city walk. 

We took the route inside the city, passing churches and window shopping 🛍️ 

 

 

We went through the central market. 

Before we headed down to the white tower, Charlotte decided it was time for a stop. 

Café Freddo Americano👍🏻

 

We walked back towards the ship by the water front. 

Halfway back to the ship Charlotte wanted more shade, so we walked one street up. (It gives you shade from the buildings;) 

Then we went back to our home-away-from-home. 

 

We returned back onboard around 15.15. 

Charlotte was ready for lunch. 

 

So we went to our cabin to find the dreaded letter of goodbye and luggage tags 🏷️ 

 

Charlotte was 😮 and almost cried! 

What is this???

 

Are we only 3-days away from checking out??😱🥺😫😢

 

Then we hit the buffet😋

To drown my sorrows of luggage tags…. I needed some Mexican 🇲🇽 comfort food 🤣

 

Charlotte went for a big plate of pasta🤣

So a few words of our stateroom⚓️

We all know INF is an older ship. 

That’s okay 👍🏻 

She is well kept in maintenance. 

 

But this stateroom I have on this sailing, are the most worn of all rooms I have sailed onboard. 

-The fridge is not cold, the water inside is not hot, but definitely not cold. It’s air temperature. 
 

-the coffee table are very visible rusty

 

 

 

-it’s missing a cover up pice on the door holder. 

 

-ac is on max cold and it’s good for me (but I know some fellow travellers would scream it’s to hot) 

 

The cabin is clean and spotless. So nothing wrong from our housekeeper. 

 

But change of the table would lifted the “old, rusty” to more “well kept”

Mr says hello 👋🏻 to everyone🥰

I had a longer chat by him today after lunchtime. 

He is not starving, the cats are still alive and the house is still standing😅

But Mr had a little problem….

He forgot to close the balcony door one day and he went for work. 

Our cats did nothing wrong, they stayed in the house. 

But our new neighbours are “crazy cat lady” from Poland😝😆

So the owner of the house said to us, new tenants, polish 🇵🇱, no English, no Norwegian language…. They do have 1 cat 🐈‍⬛….

 

Well, they moved in…. I saw one cat 🐈‍⬛ two cats 🐈‍⬛ three cats 🐈‍⬛…..

Then Mr thought I was going crazy 🤪 since I said it’s more cats 🐈 I hear the sound of kittens🤭

Well… guess what? 5 kittens 🐈‍⬛ 

And they kept 2… 

 

So we are a very popular place… 

So suddenly we had cats coming to our house, staying on our balcony AND go inside our house 😦🙄😬

Miss and Hannah was shocked 😳 

So one is very “house warm” she goes inside and goes for a nap in our sofa if allowed. 

Miss and Hannah just looks at her and looks at us for help to get the intruder out again….🚨

 

But they do have a male cat, he is definitely not made a consultant….. 😑 so he is spraying all over the neighbourhood🫥

 

Mr arrived home from work and in the entrance hall, he could smell a piffi smell of cat…. Like a really bad cat…..

 

He walked upstairs to discover that the balcony door was wide open AND that the dining carpet was wet and stinky😑

He texted me asap asking for help, so I guided him through the laundry room for products for this type of situation… 

And how to proceed without destroying our Arabic handmade carpet…

 

It was still stinky Peter🤢🥴😵‍💫🫥🫠 today…

So I texted him links to dry cleaners that do hand knitted carpets….

He had spoken to them, so he will deliver the carpet to professional cleaning….

Not good. Perhaps you need to bring some of these issues to management attention.
 

We have 5 cabins next year on her and I’m hoping they are not like this. Our Aqua room in March was very well maintained and I can’t remember any issues like you have posted, but we’re not in Aqua on our next cruise on Infinity 😬😕.
