Another longshoremen possible strike

In the event that your embarking Port is disrupted by a longshoremen strike, what is the Cruise Line’s responsibility to the passengers?

If you are asking about the possible strike on the East Coast of the US, there have been several threads around. There appears to be an exemption for cruise ships...the strike won't affect them.

Even if the longshoremen do not strike cruise ships, there could be a problem if supplies needed by the cruise ship cannot come off cargo ships.

Only 15 more cruises docking in Montreal before the end of the season, only one of which is a HAL ship (Volendam). Hardly worth their while to target cruises given the small number left. Vancouver longshoremen workers at six grain terminals in Metro Vancouver walked off their jobs this past Tuesday, but the cruise port has not been affected.

Hoping you are right.  We are on the repositioning cruise on the Volendam leaving Montreal on Oct 5 headed to FLL.  Crossing our fingers we make it OK and don't have any problems.

We've done Canadian/New England, but the repositioning cruise is still on our bucket list. I'll keep my fingers crossed too on your behalf!
