Rare WrittenOnYourHeart Posted September 26 #1 Share Posted September 26 Now that we are close to cruises for summer 2026 being released, it's time for me to start thinking about booking from my Cruise Later that I booked in July. I know my TA handles it, but so I'm prepared, do I pay more of the deposit than the $100? Or would that be the deposit like it would have been if the cruises had been available to book on board? (I don't do Retreat, so it's not the 10% thing I know.)
563toM Posted September 26 #2 Share Posted September 26 We have purchased them once so far and the $100 deposit is applied to your booking. You don't have to pay any more money until the final payment date. I did use our 3 Cruise Later Certificates last year and we booked our cruises with a big box store for the extra perks. I had a very hard time with all 3 bookings as the big box store had no idea what the certificates were and how they should process the payment. We now only book directly with Celebrity so the 2 certificates that we just purchased should go smoothly, I hope. 1
Rare WrittenOnYourHeart Posted September 26 Author #3 Share Posted September 26 Thank you! My TA works for a small independent agency, so I'm pretty sure if she doesn't know what to do directly one of her colleagues will. They book a lot of X and RCCL cruises as an agency. 1Virgo Posted September 26 #4 Share Posted September 26 We ve used them numerous times but perhaps depending on state room type and how close to cruise to date, we ve had to pay a bit extra. Happy planning

Your TA will likely know what to do with the booking. The cruise lines provide training programs to all agents and if they have any questions Celebrity will assist them with your booking. catspaw1 Posted Sunday at 01:26 AM #6 Share Posted Sunday at 01:26 AM We used them with our TA, not the big box store, & she knew exactly what to do. Glad we got them on our last cruise as we are using them for a TA in November.
Jeremiah1212 Posted Sunday at 02:25 AM #7 Share Posted Sunday at 02:25 AM If you aren’t booking Retreat there are no variables unless you book into a group rate then you owe the full deposit. When you book, stateroom type, etc makes no difference.
cruizingOmi Posted Sunday at 12:06 PM #8 Share Posted Sunday at 12:06 PM The FFC gives you time to look for Future Cruises, when you actually book that Cruise you have to pay the deposit minus the $100. My Agent also works independently .

miched Posted Monday at 12:41 AM #10 Share Posted Monday at 12:41 AM A few years ago I used a TA that participated in group rates. If I booked for the group rate to get the extra OBC I would have to pay a larger deposit. That was before Celebrity start the refundable and non refundable rate. He was the owner of the travel agency and had a stroke so no longer in business. I have since used a warehouse store. So I don’t know if group rates want more deposit. The best thing about using those certificates is the OBC and if booking a non refundable rate you only lose $100 instead of the regular amount required. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
