mcrcruiser Posted October 7 #1 Share Posted October 7 At one time Celebrity ported a ship here in San Diego to do the Mexican Cruise ports ,Hawaii & they could explore other Pacific Ocean regions from San Diego . Personally ,we would welcome a Celebrity ship here in SD
hrhdhd Posted October 7 #2 Share Posted October 7 You should write to Celebrity and tell them that. (Again.)

They once did .It was the Mercury & we enjoyed many cruises on her . I have a selfish motive to ask because Holland America does port a ship which does the Mexcio vports ,round trip Hawaii & round trip to French Polynesia . Our problem is they run our of handicap cabins evem looking 2 years in advance . We would welcome another cruise line here . We understand that MSC is entrtaining placing a ship on the west coast . SD is sucj a desirable city to visit vs the Los Angeles area & the LA cruise terminal is a huge parking problem .
LJJQ Posted October 7 #4 Share Posted October 7 At one time we did a wine cruise from Ensenada to Seattle. The interesting part was we reported to the Marriott Hotel across from the airport. After checkin we boarded buses and were driven to Ensenada. Overnight we sailed to San Diego for our first port visit of the cruise. Sailing out of San Diego rekindled memories of my years on an aircraft carrier at North Island. It would be a smart move for Celebrity to homeport a ship there. jelayne Posted October 7 #5 Share Posted October 7 Celebrity tried putting the Solstice in LA in fall 2022. They could not fill the ship. We got a great deal on a Celebrity Suite and the ship was roughly 70% full. I don’t think they will try that again any time soon.
CardowMD Posted October 7 #6 Share Posted October 7 Maybe a smaller ship would be better if that location, than one of the larger ones. Not as many cabins to fill.
