jonahwicky Posted March 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2007 What is a hump (or aft) cabin and why do I want one? Can my 2 year old enroll in the 3-5 year old programs? Can I save a pool lounge chair for the whole week? Do I have to tip if I ...? Has anyone ever stayed in cabin xxxx? How far is it from airport X to ship Y? I'm gonna go postal if I see another post asking the same question for the 10,000th time! (Sorry, having a bad day. I feel better now.)

Langley Cruisers Posted March 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2007 Well my friend, as frustrating as repeat threads may be sometimes, we were all new, once. A little common courtesy goes a long way, and I think that includes not ridiculing those who may, in their excitement, create a repeat thread. My husband did that when he first got here - he was literally so excited about finding these boards and about our upcoming cruise, that he did forego the Netiquette. His bad. But certainly no biggie. It's OK to refer them to the Search function, or to actually go ahead and run the search for them. Boy, what a peach you'd be if you did that. :D Having said that, there is much to be said for not clicking on the thread and opening it. It takes some self-control... but it's better for yer blood pressure. Have a great day.
rmcg1975 Posted March 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2007 LMAO! Well I suppose that is what we get when the link to, "Search this Forum", is waaaaaaaaaaaaay off to the right in small print.
pickleo Posted March 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2007 Be nice. Not everyone spends hours and hours surfing the board. If you are tired of seeing the same posts, stop looking at them.

I'm gonna go postal if I see another post asking the same question for the 10,000th time! (Sorry, having a bad day. I feel better now.) So what's the answer???? Can I wear jeans and smuggle booze into a hump cabin that may or may not have a bigger balcony depending on whether its aft or near elevators as I escort my small child to AOS and jauntily throw a towel onto a pool chair whilst we pass by the Solarium that may or may not be packed with kids so that I can recline upon it upon my return and work out my tips as I contemplate how far it is from ship to port!????? :D ;) By the way - will we get a free upgrade!!!!!;) :D
AdGuyMike Posted March 15, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2007 You will most certainly get a visit from the Upgrade Fairy and be put into one of the "NEW" cabins on the Enchantment Of The Seas.

(Sorry, having a bad day. I feel better now.) Well since my post is the first one you decided to pick one, I feel the need to respond. Apparently since the thread is now three pages long, it must have been a pretty valid (not petty) thing to ask. I don't have the time to search through 250 posts looking for info on a hump cabin http://boards.cruisecritic.com/search.php?searchid=4931256 and you can't always tell from the title that you will find the info you are looking for. Thankfully I got the answer I was looking for from the kind people who had no problem answering me. These boards are to gather info and that is what I was doing. Give a newbie a break. If you don't like the thread title, then don't click on it. So sorry I am causing you to go postal

careywv Posted March 16, 2007 #11 Share Posted March 16, 2007 Sorry - newbie here. I didn't know there was a search function. I'm very excited about our trip, and I love to get everyone's opinion. Sorry if my posts bother anyone. Just like someone stated earlier - everyone was a newbie at one point. :)

Ephraim Posted March 16, 2007 #18 Share Posted March 16, 2007 Snappy answers to silly questions: Anyone ever taken 3 kids on a cruise? No, only people with 2 kids or less are allowed on a cruises. You will have to sell your third child if you ever want to go on a cruise. What footwear should I wear in the dining room? Obviously, flip flops. What else would you wear to a dining room? Who sits at the captain's table at dinner? The people who are invited to sit with him. Why is there formal dinner? Because it's the only way to get you to buy something other than jeans. How do I get someone to do something they don't want to do? Shotgun, threats and withholding sex are the first answers that come to mind. Should I get married on a cruise ship? No. Stay home, alone and be miserable for the rest of your life. Am I being selfish if.... If you have to ask, you are being selfish! Does anyone ever have sex on the balcony? No, there are signs that particular forbid it and security is watching your balcony at all times to prevent you. Where can I get free alcohol on the ship? Free alcohol is provided to single women only. It's not really free, after you have had enough to drink, you will find out the cost. Which cruise line is better? X or Y? Neither. Just avoid all of them. The less people, the easier it is for us to book a cabin. Can 20 people share one soda card? Sure. In fact, the whole ship can just chip in on one card! Do I need to tip if I never want my room cleaned? Of course not. Just live in squalor! Do I need to tip if I eat in the buffet? Nope, no one is cleaning the table before you sat down, cleaning the table after you left, wiping the buffet down, replenishing the stock and running around the ship picking up the plates that you leave all over the place. Never mind serving you that slice of roast beef that you just wanted carved. Do they use money in the casino? Nope. It's the only casino in the world that functions on tiddlywinks. Will my church group enjoy The Quest? Yes! It's the search for biblical quotes.

rsscaptain Posted March 16, 2007 #23 Share Posted March 16, 2007 Well, as a relative newbie, I can say I never (till this thread) new that there was a "search this thread" button. What cracks me up is that some people are so short sighted as to think that everyone else in the world is learning the same thing as they are and at the same time! You should hear me telling my mother over the phone how to do something on the computer. I say, "Now click on the Internet Explorer icon" Then she asks, "What's an icon?" LOL She says she can't email because she doesn't have email on her computer. LOL After I show her where it is and set up her email, she still can't open an email. So there is always someone new to ask an old question. I'd love it if my Ma would use the internet to explore her upcoming cruise, and I'd be sad if she were shut down by a rude person. Sorry if I'm not responding to the humor intended in this thread, but I didn't see any.
TRadle Posted March 16, 2007 #24 Share Posted March 16, 2007 I just did a search for “hump cabin” and got 250 results. Is it a wonder people just ask their question on a message board such as this one?
marci22 Posted March 16, 2007 #25 Share Posted March 16, 2007 Since all the answers must be in here somewhere, all and I mean all repeat questions should be deleted by the moderator. You must search! Search or die! Unless it is a question about an untraveled ship or itinerary, most everything really has been asked and answered, right? So why continue to answer! Just search! I'm jk I think the search function stinks.
