I Just Gotta Ask!

As folks read through a post and the add their comments....

WHY do they insist of duplicated 6 to 10 inches of copy?

Do they get extra credit for extra long replies to threads?

Have they forgotten why they are posting and have to go back and re-read as they write?

Not complaining, just asking

You mean like this? lol. Most of the time they quote (by hitting the quote button) so that the person they are responding to will know they are responding to them. But why people quote the original post in a thread, I will never know. That makes no sense.

I am losing my marbles on here. :o

I have to stop following you. :D

Nope, I actually quoted the second post. And I did it as a joke because of the purpose of this thread. And why are you following me?:D :D

the people don't know that you can edit what you're quoting in your reply. Just go to advance to type your reply...put the cursor at the beginning of the quote, and delete, delete, delete. Especially when you're replying to a post that has pictures in it. Folks, please, delete the unecessary stuff in the post you're quoting!

I always quote if it is something controversial because too many times people will post and then delete it. I also quote if the thread has gone off track, it helps to bring it back.

Now back to the Fitz/Alexis love fest! :p

A very worthy point TexasMunk. :D

Also, I have learned to turn off my signature after my first response. There once was a lengthy thread talking about that too. ;)

Turn off your signature??? How??? I'd love to know how to do that.

Go to the top of the page and click on "User CP" you'll find all kinds of options there.

You can also just uncheck the "show your signature" box under the "submit reply" button after you finish typing....... like I just did.;)
