bringing alcohal onboard

Recommended Posts

Some get caught, some don't. We've never found it necessary to bring on liquor--we fly in, and it adds too much weight to our luggage! The drink prices are reasonable, and we don't drink from sun-up to bedtime! The "drink prices" are part of our vacation budget!

Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing.

Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy. Guests under the age of 21 will not have alcohol returned to them.

Please Note: All guests must comply with TSA guidelines for transporting liquids.

Hi Star...

How many bottles of wine did you bring on with you ?

Did you bring it on in your checked luggage or carry-ons ?

That would be sweet if they start letting people do that again as long as it was for in room consumption.

Do you live in Vermont at all, or do you vacation here ?

Bob:)

We brought some liquor onboard in our luggage in March, and out of the 6 of us we only lost one bottle. We had put it all in 1 liter ginger ale bottles and they did search one of our bags and it was taken. Our friends did the same thing and one of their bags was searched which had liquor in a gingerale bottle and they didn't take it......

Don't listen to this clown. Just put anything you want to bring in your suitcase. They don't really check. They just put that disclaimer on the website to scare people so they can make more money.

Besides the do gooder posters on this site, how many people do you actually see driving down the highway doing 55 with their hands at the 9 & 3 position?

Actually the ideal way to drive was hands at 10 and 2 but that has now been revised to 8 and 4.....and what would you say if they actually checked your bag? Nothing wrong with following rules is there? Or are rules made to be broken?

Alexis, this person is a troll. Go back and read what posts have not been deleted. You can bet that they have at least one other screen name here on CC. Just ignore it and you will be better off.

Just curious who told you it was ok to bring on all the bottles of wine you wanted to. What ship were you on? I'd love to be able to bring wine on Radiance next month. Thanks.

we had no problem bringing it on.. and some were right out in the open in a canvas bag we carried on.. no smuggling there.. we were told by several people, including a head waiter that you can bring it on board but only for in cabin consumption...

p.s... we were on radiance several months ago and brought wine on with no problem.. we also had it sent to the dining room and paid a corkage fee . not a problem there either.. the policy may change ship to ship

Honest Injun? Sorry, my recent experience on the Navigator 11/5/2007 was completely the opposite. I did bring a small discrete amount on Gran Marnier, but there were multipage documents given to all passengers on numerous occassions stating the rules against bringing your own and the consequences of violating the rules.

That said, I still think if you are a mature non trouble making passenger you can bring limited amounts on the ship in your checked luggage.

I just don't get why we have a CC board "Super Moderator" going around telling folks that you're allowed to bring on as much wine as you want, as long as you plan to drink it in your cabin. Ummm . . . sorry, but that's just wrong. You very well might get away with bringing some on, and you might even have a Stewart who'd be more than happy to accommodate you with wine glasses, etc. But RCI policy is that alcohol is not to be brought onboard. Enforcement may vary by ship, but not the policy.
