Hoping someone can answer a couple of Casino Questions on AOS.

Can you tell me if there is a Craps table on board? Also, can you tell me if it is a $3, $5 or $10 table (or higher )?

Thanks.

Was on AoS two weeks ago. Hubby believes he saw $5, but wouldn't bet on that, so to speak.

Warm wishes to you all.

Aviator ... thank you for this picture ... what a welcomed sight!! 4 weeks from today I am there by 1pm!!!

Like our other CC friends in the Northeast & Canada ... we are braced for "snowmegeddon". Our forecast is somewhere between 8 and 24 inches depending on who is forecasting. My favorite has said he can't give an amount till 12-24 hours before the start and I haven't seen the news yet to see his prediction, although he called it "plowable snow". Everyone stay safe .... and warm.

Robyn wishing I was closer than 28 days away but once I'm in the 20's it moves faster!!

Now to wish for no snow on 3/5/13 ... so I can travel to CT for the flight!!! (oh & on 3/17/13 for the trip home).

Mare and John,

Just got off the AOS. Every time that I was on a beach I thought of the song that you have posted, "got my toes in the water...".

I noticed that a bunch of schools in our area are already closed for tomorrow. Nothing like the GREAT Northeast!

Keep thinking CRUISE.

The snow has started here. The airport in Providence has all flights cancelled after 1:30 PM. Amtrak is cancelling after 10:30 AM. And I am already starting to feel snow bound and I'm not even at home yet.

I am so glad that this is not the weekend that I'm starting my cruise. I feel badly for folks who have travel plans that begin after this morning to embarkation ports.

I am sure that this evening I will be sitting home thinking about San Juan and my other favorite Caribbean spots. Three weeks from tomorrow I'll be aboard Independence and headed to one of my favorite areas in the world.

To everyone on here from the Northeast, stay safe tonight.

Good luck to you. Hopefully, with the advance notice, the road crews and power companies will be prepared with the crews needed to minimize disruptions. Hopefully your internet stays up and you can keep us in the loop.

Ocean Boy ... I know what you mean. Albany Airport is cancelling flights, schools are closing, Amtrak is cancelling ... I have plenty of food and beverages. Everything is lightly coated already. Travel safely home!

Time to just sit back & wait for the snow to end now .....

Glad we aren't travelling this weekend for a cruise .... hope all who are arrive safely!

So glad we are travelling next week and not today!! I do hope that those who are cruising this weekend make it safely to their ports.....

I need some San Juan Sunshine!!! :p:p

Robyn ... what a lovely view from indoors!!! We haven't got that much yet but ours is expected to increase through the evening ... Amazed they closed our schools today in anticipation of a bad afternoon for transporting the children.

Agree I'm also anticipating that wonderful San Juan sunshine, beach and WARMTH!!!

Safe travels & happy cruising to you!!!

Hi all,

We will be sailing on the AOS on 21st April.

We stopped in San Juan last year for the day aboard the Explorer. On that occasion we visited El Yunque so did not see much of the town.

This time we're staying at the Sheraton Hotel and Casino near the convention center for two nights prior to embarkation.

I was wondering if it is possible to walk to the Pan Am pier from there.

Also is there anything around the Convention Center area for one of the evenings or would you recommend going into the old town?

I'm also very disappointed to hear that smoking is allowed in the Pub on the Royal Promenade.

This was NOT allowed on the Explorer. It's bad enough in the casino as the smoke got too much at times.

If anyone has sailed on AOS recently, any info on the smoking policy would be great.

Thanks

Hi,

I stayed at the Sheraton Convention Centre in November. Pics and review in my sig in blog below (B2B).

Bit too far to walk to the pier with cases.

There is a fine grill right next door; otherwise there is absolutely nothing else in the area. There may very well be an event on in the Convention Centre. There are cabs continually available at the hotel to take you to town or the pier.

Just off the AOS, and thought I would give you a quick run down on our cruise:

St Thomas .- went to Trunk Bay - too long a trip and too expensive - we won't bother again.

St Kitts - went to Carambola Resort - SWEET !!! Great lounges and umbrellas, everyone in our group happy cause the beach was as nice as you would find on St Kitts, and some of us had a great time snorkeling . Definately very high food and drink prices - cheeseburgers were $16

Aruba- I have mixed thoughts - we went to Eagle Beach, all the palapas were for resort guests ONLY - some folks I talked to that were staying at La Cabana had to get up at 5 AM to get one  The good part was happy hour at 2 o'clock was BOGO frozen coladas and daqueries. Sp???? Then at 4 o'clock it was BOGO all drinks!! That part was great!

Curaçao we want to seaquarium beach - ended up at the Aloha Bar - nothing too busy - maybe cause just 2 ships in port that day - very reasonable food and drink prices - chicken skewers were $4 and great!! Again our group enjoyed the beach AND snorkeling .

We really enjoyed this cruise .- no issues with fellow passengers at all!

Hope everyone enjoys their cruises coming up on this wonderful ship :D

By the way , we got to the ship at 11:15 Sunday morning ,- had absolutely no wait at all to get on the ship and they started letting people on at 11:30

Disembarcation was just as easy !!

Hi icsys. We are on the same sailing in April:D I see you haven't joined the roll call. We have a very lively roll call of about 78 people. We've got tips booked and a meet and mingle organised. X

I see that you are broadening your horizons on this trip and stepping out of your comfort zone.;):p

Be off the beach before the sun goes down. That is when the creatures of the night take flight.;)
