Day Passes At Wyndam Cable Beach

Been to Atlantis and this resort when I believe it was the Crystal Palace. I know Atlantis is awesome, be how does a day here compare? We;re a group of ladies looking to relax in the sun. We want a nice beach and a pool would be nice. How do we get the passes? Do we wait until we get there? It sounds like that is how they are purchased.

I can't compare it to Atlantis since I've never been there. The property was meticulous, the pool very clean, lounge chairs plentiful.

We just went to the front desk when we got there and purchased the day pass.

Can't address the confusion over the Wyndam day pass rates, but wanted to comment on the #10 Jitney. We were there last September, took the jitney to the Wyndam, BAD EXPERIENCE! We like to enjoy the local experience each place we go, but this was no a pleasant experience. The bus windows were coated with pink film (very disorientating) and they were playing very loud music from a boom box. The route went round about several neighborhoods making numerous stops, and it took us about 25 minutes to get to the Wyndam. When we exited the bus, DW and I both felt like we had just returned from the Twilight Zone. As it turned out, the pool was closed for renovations at that time so we didn't stay long. When we were ready to return to the ship, came out to the front of the hotel, and asked the attendant for a taxi, we were escorted to a stretch limo and driven back to the port along the coast road about a 5 minute drive, for $10.00.

IMHO, definitely take a taxi!

We took a taxi to the Wyndam on Saturday off of the Sovern of the Seas. We were met at the taxi by security and we paid $15 right there for wrist bands.

Note - there is a small convenience store inside the Wyndam (ask the ladies running the small 'straw market' where it is. You are able to buy beer (my husband paid $15 for a 6 pack of Corona - higher than US but cheap compared to on-board prices). You can also buy sodas and even liquor of choice. You cannot bring the liquor or beer back on board, but certainly can enjoy on the beach.

coming back on the #10 from the Wyndham they also had the boom box blasting and the driver was singing away, and waving his arm. We thought it was a hoot!:p

I thought I read 40.00 some where. How can I find out for sure? I will email direct

There are prices ranging from $15pp for a wristband to $40pp including a $30 food/bar credit to $99 for a room til 6pm that is for 2 (or 4 if children) to $90pp for the room double occpy.

So go figure... as always in the Bahamas you have to go with flow and see what happens when you get there.

I read that one was told the wristband was $40 but not to worry today - it was free! Who knows.

Well, although the last time I was here was in Oct of 2007, and things could have changed and I'm sure they may have. However, I'd like to throw in my experiences.

I've stayed as a guest at Breezes, Wyndham, Nassau Beach Resort and Sheraton (then Radisson). They are all a few minutes walk from each other...all on the same beach. Last year was the first year we were in the bahamas by way of a cruise ship. We took the #10 down to the Sheraton and walked out onto the beach from there. There were hundreds of beach chairs, we used them with no problem as well as the pools at the Sheraton. We didn't have wristbands and weren't asked to buy anything. We did buy lunch and drinks at the grill there so they did get money out of us. I will agree with another poster who said it all depends on #1. what time of year it is and what their capacity is and #2. who happens to be out there on staff.

As for someone who asked the difference between Atlantis beach and Cable beach....well there are good things for both. Atlantis beach is a private beach and it's smaller. Cable Beach is a public beach and is larger. You can walk from Breezes all the way down to the Sheraton in about 15 minutes. It's safe, it's beautiful and I think the water is much prettier on Cable beach as compared to Atlantis. Atlantis has a lot of very beautiful and interesting things that are not to be missed, but we're only talking comparing beaches right now ;)

If you're budget concious, I would choose Cable Beach hands down. And the Breezes deal is pretty darn good at about $55-$60 per person which includes all you can drink alcholic bev and use of pool, beach chairs and all food. Take the #10 for $1 or take a taxi. You can always walk down to the sheraton's beach and enjoy it as well. You won't find a better deal...even the Wyndhams day pass at $40 doesn't include all you can eat and drink.

Here's a picture of the water on the beach of the Sheraton/Wyndham....it's just gorgeous.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. We go to the Bahamas at least once/year. We live in central Florida, so it's a nice easy getaway. :)

I just contacted Breezes and was told that the current price is $60.00 p/p all inclusive (excluding room of course) from 10am till 6pm and $70.00 p/p from 6pm till 2am. For an all inclusive with meals and drinks and use of the facility and beaches... that seems to be a GREAT DEAL and we will take advantage of this when we arrive on the Fascination 02OCT.

Where do we catch the #10 bus to get us there ?

That'd be me Bobs Family. The property wasn't very crowded the day we were there but who knows why she let us go for free. I wasn't asking any questions.

Most likely it was you demeanor - being very nice - and that is wasn't crowded.

It is amazing how being polite causes the average Bahamian to go from surly to polite themselves. The Bahamian is so used to a tourist that expects everything on a platter and is pleasantly surprised by someone being nice.

The #10 bus or "jitney" that they like to call it, is located in town about a block or so from the straw market. When you get off of the ship and walk through the building, go out to the main roads and walk to your right to get there. EVERYone in Nassau knows where to catch the #10 so if you can't find it, just ask one of those friendly bahamian folks "where can I catch the #10" and they'll happily point it out to you. Just don't ask the cab drivers, because they'll talk you into taking a cab. ;) Just a heads up, the jitneys aren't really busses, they are white vans that look like they have about 1 million miles on them! :)

Please give us a review of your day in Nassau when you get back. I am trying to decide between Breezes & Wyndham. Have a great cruise.:)

i went to the wyndham this time last year. i took the #10 jitney around 1030 in the morning and got to the wyndham in about 15/20 minutes. went into the lobby, and we bought 2 day passes for $15 a piece. the pool was closed at the wyndham so they said we could use the pool/bathroom at the sheraton. we used their pool but the hot tubs at the wyndham. the place was DEAD at the time so it was nice and quiet.

We sat on the beach and ate food we packed food from the ship (fruit, granola, nuts) to hold us over until we got back to the ship for real food mid afternoon.

we got back to the ship, changed, ate a little and then did our shopping in nassau. by that time, alot of people from the ship were pooped and not in town anymore so it wasnt as crowded.

We were at the Wyndham on Saturday. The price for a wristband was $40 which gave you a $30 food/bev voucher so basically if you are going to be drinking/eating while there the cost is a net $10.

Hey there everyone

I just returned from Nassau, was there on the Sensation on Friday. We decided to go to Breezes for the day. I was waiting on the weather to make our final decision.

When you first get off the ship, inside the port house, there are maps of Nassau that have coupons in them. One is good for $10 off admission for 2 to Breezes. Which brought the total to $55 per person.

My friend and I went down and caught the #10 bus by the straw market and got off at Breezes. We paid $55 each (and presented the front desk with the coupon) for all you can eat, drink (alcoholic & non) and use of beach, pool etc. It was well worth it (don't buy this excursion on the ship, it's much more expensive!!). Every time I walked up to the pool bar, I said, "make me something fruity" and they delivered everytime! Lots of rum, they're not stingy on the alcohol at all. Grabbed some lunch at the buffet, which was fresh and tasty. Later I also grabbed some french fries at the pool grill to munch on. Breezes was perfect for us since we were going to need to eat anyway and wanted to have some adult beverages. We also took a nice long walk on Cable Beach, down past the old Nassau Beach resort (which is now barracaded off) and by the Wyndham and down to the Radisson/now Sheraton. We walked around their beach and grounds...nobody asked us for anything. We didn't actually use their facilities, except to walk around...at one point I did jump in the pool because I was hot, but the place was dead and nobody said jack to me. We took some pictures on the Sheraton's beach, it's got some gorgeous water!

I have stayed as a guest at Breezes twice and also at the Sheraton once so we're seasoned Nassau visitors. If you don't plan on drinking, Breezes probably isn't a good deal for you. However, if you do plan on drinking, it's a great deal at $55 each for all you can drink and eat plus the beach and pool. Remember, everyone must be at least 16 years of age at Breezes.

If anyone has any questions, please let me know! :)

Did you buy your passes from the wyndam to get the 30 food and beverage credit or did you buy through a tour operator? We are considering this for our upcoming cruise. We will have my 65 yr old mother in law with so if shes had enough sun she can go to the casino.

We are also starwood members and I wonder if the sheraton has any deals for spg points.

Hi all!

We were in Nassau last March and paid $15pp. As some others have stated, I don't know if it is a seasonal thing (why the prices have gone up to $40) or if they really have just hiked them up that much altogether.

We, too, took the jitney and actually had fun on the ride there and back. It can get hot but I don't remember it being too bad, as they had all of the windows down

There was a liquor shop inside of the Wyndham (this is where we bought our passes/wristbands).

With the $15 wristband, we had use of all facilities (pools at both the Wyndham and the Sheraton, I think there was one at Wyndham and 3 at the Sheraton, with a swim up bar at one).

There was a band playing and they had some games going on, I think there was some sort of dance competition.

There were bowling pins and a bowling ball on the beach (I have pictures of this, it was really fun:D) and a giant chessboard with big pieces you could play with. There was a slide at the Wyndham pool too.
