Princess Corp is watching!

Umm, is OP suggesting that the "big boss in LA" actually gave a passenger's email address to a crew member?

I thought the same thing at first, and then decided to assume the OP had given her email address to the bartender anyways. We've exchanged email addresses with several crew members over the years, so it's not unfathomable.

I think it's great that we know that Princess reads these boards, but, really, they would be foolish not to. This is the cheapest (e.g. free) customer feedback they will ever get outside the actual cruise opinion surveys, even though it represents just a small percentage of their cruise passengers.

Oh 8 Bells, I am with you on that!! Hello Princess....please upgrade your coffee to STARBUCKS!!!! That hot mud you are serving has NO flavor at all!

I wonder if we Brits are at fault for the coffee quality, most of us just drink "instant" coffee so we don't have much taste, and of course Princess used to be British owned.

But please Princess, if you are reading this thread, go for something a bit better than Starbucks, think fresh brewed from a mediterannean sea front cafe instead.

Well!!!!! At least we now know who is at fault here.:D

Just some nice fresh brewed coffee would be make us Yanks much happier:) Oh yes, and some lite creme to go with it. (Half and Half will do, if necessary)

Dear Princess,

Please run more than one security line, boarding & disembarking in port visits...the local security told us you were the slowest of all the cruise lines. Also your charges for sodas & specialty coffees are just downright irritating. We drank water & ice team in protest, for the most part.

Dear Princess (if you're truly watching),

We cruise a lot and would like to even cruise more......can you give really cheaper prices to your really frequent cruisers?

ROZ - My thoughts exactly! I fly American a great deal, almost exclusively. American gets my flying dollars and American shows they appreciate their customers. As a matter of fact, because of frequent flyer miles all five of us are flying free to New York for our next cruise. I hope Princess were to give some incentive like that. I know it would encourage me to spend more frequently, i.e. sail more often, if I know a big perk was coming!

And, just think of all the $$$$$$$$ you'd spend in the gift shops, onboard and the drinks you could buy at the bar and the wine that you'd order with your very special meal purchased in their very special dining rooms. Oh! And, don't forget the more generous tipper you'd become!!!!!!

The perks for the cruiseline's are enormous.....now, if they'd just listen or read what were pleading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on cruise exec's.....stop handing out luggage tags/bags/free laundry and a drink and a crabcake with the Captain...and give us $$$$$$$$$$ spending/frequent cruise buying/hooked on cruising junkies some real perks!!!!!!

Princess if you are reading this, please, please reinstitute the policy of selling 1 Liter bottles of premium liquor through Room Service. Price is not that important, mark it at retail prices and many of us will avail ourselves of the service.

This has been one of the most complained about changes on this board in the last 2-3 years.

And don't charge $3 for regular ice cream at the stand near the Horizon Court.

I am sure that Princess reads most of the posts here on the CC. I wonder if some of the regular posters are current or past employees of the Corporate office... :D:eek::D

There are at least a couple that admit it and probably many more that we are unaware of.;)

Hello Princess!

Instead of allowing smoking in public areas, you can

set aside a few enclosed rooms on each floor for smokers like they do in some airports which

have excellent filtration air conditioners. Smokers can to go in there

to smoke cigarettes, pipes, cigars. That way non-smokers and smokers won't be

so self riteous. And non-smokers won't be complaining about the nextdoor smokers

on the balcony. Also if you have to charge a little fee (like a smoker's card) to enter

I'm sure those nicotine addicts would gladly pay a little to get their fix. You can

sell them duty free cigarettes even! :p  :D

Now you are getting a bit ridiculous. I do not drink so should I expect Princess to have closed drinking rooms so when you go to the Wheelhouse or the Casino or wherever then when you want a drink you can go foo to some liitle room? Just a suggestion!

Here's my two cents, Princess.... put full-size lounge chairs on Promenade Deck of new ships. We can't relax and pick up our feet on the new ships that have deck chairs instead of loungers.:(

Oh they definately do read these posts. On our last b2b Emerald cruise the passenger services director knew us before we even got on.

One day he even phoned our cabin with answers to one of my questions about turn around day as I was posting a live thread. My question was "where is the closest Starbucks and liquor store" from the pier for turn around day. Obviously you can see where my priorities are. He told me exactly where they both were and even offered us someone to direct us --

We became very good friends with him, he even invited us to a personal Sake tasting which included Sushi. Offered us lots of little perks throught the cruise too, not only for us but also our Roll Call group. I am sure many will know who I am talking about. He was so great we hope to sail with him again soon.

After we posted our review he sent me an email and said he printed it out and will share with the staff, especially the ones we mentioned personally and we forward copy to head office.

PS - if they are reading this I too want 1litre bottles of booze from room service.

- stricter smoking policies

- lounge chair available at all times

- no complaining passengers at my table

- oh and upgrades are always welcomed

thanks for listening Princess

I would like to second this request... please add Starbucks coffee on ships! Especially on the ships that depart out of Seattle! We'll be sailing next year with a big family of die hard coffee drinkers!

I think Princess does a great job in all areas! My request would be that we get to cruise the Na Pali coast line when we go to Hawaii. We are sailing the Golden on October 1st. and would love to see it. We were on Celebrity one year and they cruised by the Na Pali coast line and it was just awesome. We went on Princess two other times since and they never went by. We were so disappointed since it is just a beautiful scenic view. We hope maybe by chance the Captain might go by...and also the volcano...what a view that would be. Just suggestions...hope they think about it...it would be such a treat for everyone and something to talk about when we get home. We will celebrate our our 50th anniversary (while on the ship)...maybe they will make it a gift to us! : ) We would love it...but whatever...we love Princess!

I have the same question for the OP. How did the bartender know your email address?

Umm, is OP suggesting that the "big boss in LA" actually gave a passenger's email address to a crew member? Hopefully I am just confused on this one (nothing new!)

Ding, Ding, Ding... we have a winner!!! :D Yes, the bartender only knew my email address because we had taken some photos & were going to exchange them once I got home. Plus, I hope she will keep me posted as to other ships she may transfer to in the future... it's always an incentive to know you'll have a terrific bartender when you book! LOL! Yes, I enjoy my cocktails & she made our favorite drinks better than any other bartender onboard!

How did Princess know how to contact you - all that is here is your screen name and you don't have any contact info or an email address in your profile???
That was my first thought also when I read the original post. I'd like know...

While onboard the Crown this past September, our CC group met in the disco for our Cruise Critic get together. We were greeted by the infamous James (he's from Japan), the Hotel Manager. He was keen to ask each of us not only about the current voyage we were sailing but our previous Princess voyages as well. From what I understand, he's often on the travel shows as a "face of cruising".

We saw him throughout our 9 day sailing from NYC and he even made a point of telling us he reads the posts on this website....

That's great....I hope they read the negative comments about the beds, bedding, their buffet setup, and coffee. We are about to book for Feb. If all things are equal, items like this will push us over to HAL or Celebrity.

Although Cruise Critic folks are just a small percentage of those that cruise, I know that not only does Princess Corp read these boards, but there are also the guest entertainers and CDs as well as their SOs who read them as well! Any praise or criticism is passed on to someone at Princess! :) And whether it be bad or good, hopefully the final outcome is to help to make Princess better at what they already do extremely well!

Happy Cruising!

I so agree with this -- and have lots of them!! It can be even harder to find an empty chair on the Promenade Deck than up by the main pool!

My suggestion, which oddly enough no one has mentioned on this thread yet, is to have DECENT hair dryers in the cabin!! Clearly those models were selected by a man. A man with a buzz cut. They really are pretty lame when it comes to the "styling" portion of the hair drying. There's something so dispiriting about boarding the ship with a new cute haircut and then being unable to display it as it was intended because that bloody hair dryer is so awful! Even the Holiday Inn had a better hair dryer the last time I was forced to stay in one.
