Have any of you been able to buy Christmas ornaments?

I collect Christmas ornaments on vacation and was dissappointed last

Sepember on the CB when I tried to purchase one. I was told that they don't carry them until closer to Christmas. I have cruised RCCL, Celebrity and Carnival and they have always been avaiable no matter what time of the year. I have beautiful gold plated ship ornmanents from all of them. We are cruising in October this year on the Crown and I'm hoping that they will have them then.

I like to do the same thing and sometimes they do not have what they call xmas ornaments BUT they do have key chains and I have learned to buy those, put on a ornament hook and hang them on the tree. I have some beauties of the ships name or outline. Just a suggestion.

October might be a little IFFY as to finding ornaments on the ship. If memory serves me correctly, they begin selling them in the shops around the middle of November. Princess does not have them in stock on the shelves 365 like other cruise lines often do. Sorry!

I've seen assorted holiday ornaments at the "garage sale" in one of the dining rooms on some of our winter sailings (January, February).

You might want to check the clearance/sale tables from Princess shops, too, as I've seen the annual dated Lladro ornaments at the same time of year (post-holiday).

We've been frustrated by Princess' lack of ornaments as well, but, like Marilyn, we buy the keychains and use them.

We also had a couple of nice ornaments made from a couple of pictures we took as well - most of the on-line photo hosting sites can do that for you.

We're hopeful that on the Ruby Princess in November that they may have some ornaments.

To add to my comment on xmas ornaments in the gift shops, I have also made a suggestion to Princess to purchase xmas ornaments on the Comment Card that is delivered to your cabin before the end of the cruise. Now if a lot of people do that than maybe princess will listen.

I collect ornaments too, but if I can't find one, a keychain works just fine.

I forget to mention that I did buy a couple of key chains last year, but it's not the same as the gold ships. I aso called Princess after our cruise thinking maybe I could purchase them and was told that the only way you could buy them was on the ships. Maybe Princess will take notice and start having them in their shoppes.

Give Ebay a look once in a while. There are always cruise ship ornaments, trinkets, casino chips and other odds and ends on Ebay at all times.

I agree that Princess is missing a great opportunity by only selling ornaments at the holidays. I absolutely hate that answer - "oh we only stock ornaments at Christmas time". But I'm not THERE at Christmas time!!!

We will do the same when we cruise in April. I usually can find an ornament in the ports but not on the ship. I never thought of using a key chain for an ornament! Although I do have one on my tree of a rubber chicken! It was a gag gift from some dear friends and it does have a place of honor on our tree every year!:)

We have been collecting Christmas ornaments from the different ports we visit.

How about using all the old cruise cards we have as Christmas ornaments? Especially the ones already punched for the lanyard.:D

Merry Christmas, y'all!

We also buy Christmas ornaments from vacation but I prefer one that is from a place we visit. No luck in Turkey this year (Muslim country) but got an absolute beauty in Mykenos Greece. Had a hard time also in Australia. Seems they don't do the year round Christmas shoppe. I am up to about 45 places on the Christmas tree. There would be more if the tree would hold them and the personalized ones also.

We also love calendars from our travels. Learning to be a bit careful. Pretty pictures but with the week display SSMTWTF or alternately

MTWTFSS messes me up for the whole year. Sometimes just display the pictures with a "real" calendar underneath. Makes for good memories for the entire year. How about a calender with Princess ships in wonderful ports.
