OBC Use it or lose it???

Will Carnival refund your OBC (fuel surcharge and price drop) to your cc or do you lose it if you don't use it?

We just returned and didn't use our onboard credit. They applied it to our S&S balance. So, yes it will go toward your CC.

If you had a S & S balance, and it was applied to that balance, how would that be considered not using it ? It was applied against something if you had a S & S balance i.e gratuities, onboard purchases, shore tours, etc....therefore one can only assume it was actually used !

Some OBC is use it or lose it. OBC for price drops is usually that way for instance. The fuel Im assuming they will refund and is the kind of OBC that is refundable.

I would double check with Carnival. I have heard different stories. I was told that the fuel surcharge obc would be given back as a check if you don't use it onboard. But any price drop obc must be used or lost, as far as I understand. Truthfully, I wouldn't take the chance of losing it.

I just got back & my price drop credit was listed as non refundable credit as was the shareholders credit. In the past the shareholders was always listed as refundable, even though they said it wasn't. The Mexican govt gave us a credit of $15pp back from taxes & that was refundable.Don't take a chance - ask the purser.

OBC's for money that you have paid out of pocket, like fuel charges, or price drops after final payment, etc are refunded if not used, with others they may or may not be refunded.

We just got back from the Imagination and didnt use all OBC that we got from price drops and Carnival wouldnt give it to us :mad:

Yes, you can. On board, I asked about refunds. I had about $350 in price drop OBC's, and another $250 in prepaid credits. The purser claimed the price drop OBC's are used first, then the others (to my surprise). They gave me a check for $200 and change on the last night.

Yes, lose it or lose it. You can treat yourself to some things you normally wouldn't.
