how are january cruises? will they be empty?

im going on the inspiration cruise on jan 3 from tampa. with port stops in grand cayman and cozumel.

 

 

how full will the ship be? im assuming less kids but maybe more college kids? any one been january cruisin?

January is one of our favorite times to cruise - it gets us out of the cold and fog. We like to go to Mexico in January as it is easy to get to and not real expensive, the ship is always full.

Unless the college kids are 21 or older, there won't be many on board. January sailings are usually full, with a little older demographic, because kids are back in school after the Christmas holiday. But there will be plenty of people on board.

I was on the Caribbean Princess in January. Obviously a favorite time to get away from winter, they overbooked badly. Were offering a half price cruise in March and OBC to stay home and folks I talked to on the ship all turned down that offer.

 

January cruises are pretty popular and of course most cruises sail full.

This is considered "prime" cruising time! It's cold almost everyplace, so folks want to go where it's warm. Don't expect an empty ship!

I am taking my college daughter in January and her friends are also going on another cruise in January with their college kids. College starts again January 21rst.

Ships will not be empty. Cruise lines mark down the price of cabins until they get sold. The ships will go out close to full........ how much people spend on board will be another story!

We have sailed in January -- ships were full.

We were quite surprised to hear that the Independence of the Seas was not completely sold out -- we saw her while we were cruising on the Eurodam a couple of weeks ago. In spite of all the last minute sales -- she still had room for 1000 more passengers. Tough times are ahead for the cruise industry.

Our favorite time to cruise! Never an empty ship and always few if any kids. A great way to get away from the Wisconsin winters and relax after the holidays.

Most colleges in GA returns Jan.14th. We cruise the 9th
