SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1630

DECK #: 11

CLASS: AQ2

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Steward closet is across from 1632 and we occasionally heard some noise about 6AM. Although you could faintly hear entertainers from deck 3 in the hallway, you could not hear them in the room.

BALCONY VIEW: Standard AQ

BALCONY SIZE: Standard AQ

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Six cabins aft of the elevator area. Access through the balcony partition to 1628 is easy, but access through the partition to 1632 is very restricted by the strut going up to deck 14. We enjoyed the large overhang as it kept the rain and sun off our veranda. Directly above the gap between lifeboats 15 and 17.

BALCONY SIZE: Larger than average. Nice and shady and well-protected from the wind while under way.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?:No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Overall OK.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 2162

DECK #: 12

CLASS: Aqua Suite (AS)

AREA: Midships at elevator

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Not during the day! Lots of foot traffic, especially children running on pool deck. OK at night. See comments.

BALCONY VIEW: Nice - no issues

BALCONY SIZE: OK - balcony is about half again as wide as normal veranda cabin. Depth is average.

WIND A PROBLEM?: Normal wind dependent on course/speed/weather

SOOT A PROBLEM?: None observed

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Cabin & bath were very nice with lots of storage - probably used only half of it. Plentiful closet hangers and space to use them. No noise from elevator vestibule even though it was a just few steps from the door. Only issue was foot traffic overhead on pool deck during the day. There were more than 500 kids on this spring break cruise and they all must have run over this cabin each day. A quiet noon siesta in this cabin is problematic. No noise issues at night, other than some early morning pool deck preparations that were not much of a problem. Occasional flushing noises from adjacent cabins, but were not particularly annoying. Once my hearing deteriorates, I'd happily choose this cabin again!

Silhouette

9266

Deck 9

Balcony 1A

3rd cabin from the hump, on the front angle

Bed near bathroom, couch near balcony

Very quiet

Great view to the front of the ship and of the Bridge

Because this cabin is on the angle of the hump, the balcony is about 2.5 - 3 times the size of normal balcony in this category

No wind problem

No soot problem

No noise problem, a GREAT cabin. Have booked it again!

Stateroom: 2146

Ship: Eclipse

Deck: 12

Class: S1

Area: Starboard aft corner

Bed Near: Balcony

Quiet?: Most of the time cabin was quiet. You could occasionally hear chairs scraping from Oceanview bar area above. However, it was never at night and never affected our sleep. It tended to happen late morning and again around dinnertime but was not a problem.

Balcony view: Starboard and aft view due to wraparound balcony. Large overhang above this cabin kept it shaded most of the time (but not all). Totally private, nobody can look into your balcony.

Balcony size: Very large. Comfortably sits at least 3 people and a large table.

Wind a problem?: No

Soot a problem?: Not at all

Problems/Comments: No problems whatsoever. Wouldn't hesitate to book this cabin again. Excellent choice.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1548

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua

AREA: Forward

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Usually. See Comments

BALCONY VIEW: Good

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Very quiet cabin in a good location. Only noise was a little after 7 each morning we could hear what sounded like a heavy rolling cart above us for about 15 minutes. (I think it was the pool staff rolling out the pool towel carts.)

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 8338

DECK #: 8 Vista

CLASS: 1A

AREA: AFT

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Incredibly Quiet

BALCONY VIEW: Port Side all the way to the front of the ship.

BALCONY SIZE: Oversized and angled.

WIND A PROBLEM?: Not really, but got hot on non windy days

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Not at all, Balcony completely covered.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Last Cabin at the end of the corridor, before the Aft Cabins and Corner Sky Suites. Cabin is last on the air conditioning line and very little air comes circulates and the cabin can get hot during the night. We like our room cold, so if you do not, you will love the cabin. Excellent all the way around.

Checking the spreadsheet which is wonderful, great job to those who did this, checking on room 9354, does not say the ship, we are on the Solstice in June, but I am assuming that all the S ship cabin are the same.

Ship : Silhouette

cabin #: 8142

Deck 8

Class 1C

Area FWD

Bed near: balcony

Quiet: yes very, unless you have horrible neighbors like we did!

Balcony view: Great all around! Maybe arguably the best in the ship.

Balcony size: Average

Wind Problem: I am not sure if it was our voyage or not, but it was particularly windy for us. Due to this I am no longer booking FWD balcony cabins again. I think I like the aft better.

Other comments: not really, it is a good overall cabin very close to the elevators.

QUIET?: very quiet, even though very close to elevators

BALCONY SIZE: Standard

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

QUIET?: No

BALCONY VIEW: Good, no obstructions

BALCONY SIZE: Good

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 2131

DECK #: 12

CLASS: Sky Suite S2

AREA: Port Aft

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: No obstructions

BALCONY SIZE: Normal for its class

WIND A PROBLEM?:No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Fantastic location midway in hall. Close enough to elevators to be convenient but far enough away to be quiet. No atrium noise whatsoever. We occasionally heard carts rolling up above but not often enough to be annoying. Only flaw in cabin is that in rough seas the walls and ceilings creak a lot. Maybe because of high location in ship? We would definitely book this cabin again.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 6304

DECK #: 6

CLASS: SS1

AREA: Corner Aft

BED NEAR: n/a

QUIET?: very quiet, no noise from restaurant below, few room creaks

BALCONY VIEW: view was to side and aft, affected by very large blue roof of restaurant below. View of water obstructed downwards by several feet of that roof

BALCONY SIZE: at least double the average balcony. Balcony had 2 chairs and small table, but you could have fit lounger. Balcony partially covered and you did have those above looking at you. We had cigarette butts thrown onto balcony from above even with no smoking rule.

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no... Except cigarette butts from smokers above!

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: attendants unobtrusive and very good. Excellent room size... Huge! Room has tub, lighted magnifying mirror, large flat screen, iPod docking, umbrellas, totes, robes, binoculars....no DVD player. Would book again, but might chose higher floor SS1 due to far location from pool and cafe and that blue roof that sticks out. We cruised May 2013. BTW, for comparison, room larger and better lay out than RCI Junior Suite.

Deck - 10

Cabin # - 1403

Class – C2

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – very quiet

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – no obstruction, great port view, can see a bit of the aft view, and in the left corner, one can stand out a bit more than everyone else and see more.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized

Was wind a problem? no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? no

Any other comments? A long walk to the elevators as it was the last cabin before the aft ones - we didn't mind as we were looking for any way to burn off calories, but some wouldn't like it.

Deck - 11

Cabin # - 1665

Class – S2

Starboard or Port Side - Aft

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath

Quiet Cabin – very quiet, has own little alcolve it shares with aft/port corner next door.

Balcony View – No obstruction. Incredible view of wake of ship, but also 180 degree view if you stand up and look around. Lots of sun and view all around because there is no cover. There is lack of complete privacy, but not a big issue.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized. Had large round table, two chairs that lounged with two foot stools and had a great deal of room still around us. Wonderful!!

Was wind a problem? We were so warm and comfortable when the guests by the pool were cold from the wind on the way back from Hawaii! No wind whatsoever.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Did not notice any at all.

Any specific problems with this cabin? None at all!!!

Any other comments? We found the cabin extremely comfortable and roomy. And I mean there was a great deal of space in the room, on the balcony and in the bath!!! The bath had a tub bigger than mine at home. My husband enjoyed baths and the bath ammenities were lovely. Storage space seemed to be everywhere. The bed was like a welcoming nest. It kept calling us to nap. The room was extremely clean and well maintained. I loved the doorbell!!! We had breakfast on the balcony every morning. We watched TV once and they had a good movie for free on a large HDTV. There was a pole in the room near the bed, but I didn't even really notice it. It was not a problem. As far as the distance to the elevator or stairs, I couldn't see this as an issue at all unless someone had a medical problem, and even if that were the case, it really was not that far. Let's say about maximum 30 seconds normal walking pace from door to elevator at most.

I would book this suite again, and again.....wonderful nest.:)

Ship Eclipse

Cabin 1629

Deck 11

Area aft

Bed near tha bathroom away from patio door

Quiet yes

Balcony size standard

Wind problem? No

Soot problem? No

Problems / comments

This has to be one of the better Aqua class cabins on Eclipse as it is in a nice quiet area, close to the central lifts and is not shaded too badly by the overhang.

There is a big supporting pole which comes down diagonally from the overhang to the right hand side of the balcony, this is a feature of every second cabin and won't affect most people. It did affect our neighbours who had booked 2 cabins next door to each other and wanted to open up the partition between their balconies but had the pole between them and while the partition was opened they had to step over the pole which meant a 2foot step over the angle. Just a note for those who might want a similar arrangement to check this out in advance.
