ml64 Posted February 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2009 We've never experienced CocoCay either. Any good tips from you experienced RCI cruisers?
nanfromatlanta Posted February 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Lie under a tree and relax by doing....nothing. Every now and then we go into the ocean for a dip, and then go back under that tree to resume doing....nothing. :D The water and the beach are beautiful. :D
capnlars Posted February 13, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2009 They have a couple of Hobie Cats for rent there. It was beautiful sailing when we were there the first week of January.
JSQ01 Posted February 13, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2009 I actually didn't get to go to CocoCay, because the seas were too rough...so I'm interested to know about it too:D
Rare Got2Cruise Posted February 13, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2009 It was a few years ago since we were there, but the snorkeling is great if you swim out to the lifeguard stands. The lifeguards throw food in and huge schools of fish coming swarming.
PattyG12 Posted February 13, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Sit in the tiki hut looking bar and drink "cocolocos" ... while watching everyone laying in the hammock watching the ocean and doing nothing. Greatest bar-tenders .... EVER
cb at sea Posted February 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2009 It's just so pretty! Get a tan, take a nap, eat lunch, have a beer....nothing too "high-tech"!
Chelsea17 Posted February 13, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Hi, I agree with the previous poster - snorkeling is my favorite thing. Plus unlike a formal excursion, you can snorkel with no time limit. It's a nice beach day and you can do as little or as much as you like. Have a nice cruise! My DH and I have our favorite spot and we get off on the first tender to shore so we can get to our perfect spot on the beach.
happy cruiser1234 Posted February 13, 2009 #14 Share Posted February 13, 2009 You can rent one of those floating mats for about $12. It's so peaceful to just float around in the warm water!
kaseyoz Posted February 13, 2009 #15 Share Posted February 13, 2009 We were on I think the second tender going over and the very last tender coming back so we truly got our maoneys worth on this magical place. We also did all the above but hubby and son did the kayaks, friends hibby and son did the waverunners and us mums and daughters did the parsailing. All these were organised on shore. I enjoyed the first 5 minutes of the parasailing after that I was done.... The boat ride out and back was the most fun as we skipped over all the waves. Wish we could go back but for us aussies it was more than likely a once in a lifetime experience.
FunCruiser56 Posted February 14, 2009 #16 Share Posted February 14, 2009 We loved the snorkeling here, saw huge groups of huge rays and lots of colorful fish, otherwise we just love the beach experience! Bev
suezyq50 Posted February 14, 2009 #17 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Snorkeling. We get on one of the first tenders and get out there before the crowds. The balance of the day is spent with a good book.

elkaybee Posted February 14, 2009 #21 Share Posted February 14, 2009 We love Coco Cay. Took the first tender over. From the tender station, went left and walked to beach. Were amazed at the sight. Looked like a postcard and the beach was empty! Kept walking down, down the beach and found the perfect spot. Was quite a while before we had any neighbors. Have fun! Laura p.s. While I advise going over early, be warned it will be a bit before water or other drinks available. I bring my own bottle of water.

Tex_Jen Posted February 14, 2009 #23 Share Posted February 14, 2009 I was just here on 1/25. We sat in the chairs under the palms on the beach, and just relaxed. Although, I took a book, I barely read it. Jen
aucruiser Posted February 14, 2009 #24 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Are there different beaches on CocoCay (like Labadee) or is it one long stretch of beach?
Tex_Jen Posted February 14, 2009 #25 Share Posted February 14, 2009 There are different beaches. The island is not large. We chose to stay where we did because the tide was actually very low when we were there. This is the side with the kayaks. You can see by all the people walking far out how shallow it was.
