Have 7 hump cabins booked for the EX in July. Can the deviders on the balconys be opened to make one long one? We did this on RC Oasis.

Yes. We have 6 cabins booked on an Eclipse cruise next year. Just ask your cabin attendant to open them up for you.

I personally LOVED my C1 hump cabin #1243 - about triple the size of a standard balcony - it was HUGE!!!!! Literally the largest non-suite balcony on the ship! The balcony was great for hosting cocktail parties - we had 25+ people out there one day! Being on the aft part of the hump there was virtually no wind issue to deal with. We got sun when we wanted it, and shade if desired as well. Due to balcony depth there were no privacy issues related to the angled shape.

There are 58 +/- cabins with the same size balcony we had - they are:

Resort Deck: 2105, 2109, 2106, 2110

Penthouse Deck: 1547, 1552, 1601, 1605, 1606, 1610

Sky Deck: 1075, 1044, 1231, 1243, 1247, 1108, 1120, 1124

Panorama Deck: 9155, 9192, 9209, 9215, 9237, 9241, 9266, 9270, 9292, 9296

Vista Deck: 8199, 8162, 8255, 8259, 8281, 8285, 8228, 8232, 8254, 8258

Sunrise Deck: 7159, 7206, 7215, 7219, 7241, 7245, 7260, 7264, 7286, 7290

Continental Deck: 6155, 6156, 6209, 6215, 6237, 6241, 6210, 6214, 6236, 6240

Most of these are on the hump, but some are forward where the ship starts to indent. The rooms run the range from Category 2C, 1A, C1, or AQ (with the exception of 6209/6210 which are categorized as 07 Obstucted Balcony - great balcony at a small price!). There are also many cabins adjacent to the ones I listed that also have oversized balconies that are about double the size of normal ones, but I would go for the triple sized ones first :D

Hope this helps!

Scott

P.S. - I'd also tend to choose the ones that angle to the aft over the ones that angle towards the bow as the forward facing ones could tend to get windy .....

We are sailing June 4th Equinox on the hump (7219)....didn't realise the balcony was as large as described...:) Nice surprise!!

So gad that you liked #1108. We are booked in that room in April. We will actually be having my daughter sleep on the sofa for the duration of the cruise. Is there enough room on the balcony for the three of us to enjoy breakfast? Also I have heard that people prefer the bed closer to the balcony, is there a particular reason for that? Can anyone tell me if there is much room when the sofa is made as a bed? Thanks for all your help.

just saw your question- you may already be on your cruise...:) however, I'll answer anyway: first of all: Great Cabin!

yes, its big enough for more than three to have breakfast

we like the bed by the balcony for two reasons: 1, we like the balcony door open for the fresh air & sound of the ocean, 2. it makes the room seem more open (to us) 3. easier closet access.

we neve opened up the sofa/trundle bed, but it would probably block access to the balcony

Have a great cruise!

Hey, Scott - we will be in cabin #1245 - I see you mentioned 1243 and 1247 - does that mean ours will be one of the double sized balconies? We'll take it if it is!

We have cabin #8238 (Cat 1A) on the Solstice this coming Sunday. it is in the middle of the hump. We didn't want the angled balcony cabins facing front or aft .... due to the blocked view in one direction. Looking forward to an unobstructed view forward and aft, near the elevators, with no lifeboats in sight.

Okay. Now I am really confused. I don't get cabin 8262. Maybe, I'm not seeing something. Even if they are off by 1 cabin, how does 8262 become a large hump cabin.

Help!

Deck Plan showed Vista 8232 as an angled hump but it is not. It is the first one forward on the flat hump.

  • 1 month later...

We are not long back from the Eclipse, where we had an aft facing hump cabin - 1547. Many thanks to everyone who compiled the cabin info on the sticky thread - it was very helpful when we booked (think the travel agent was a bit bemused that we wanted a specific cabin, but she understands now!).

So pros and cons:

- massive balcony, could only see and be seen when standing at the rail

- great for anyone not too good with heights, as you can see plenty without having to sit or stand near the rail

- big overhang from the deck above - great if you're pale and full of freckles like me, not so good if you love the sun

- good out and aft views, can't see much forward unless you lean out from the right corner of the balcony

- window washing equipment is parked next door (like an open white cage) - no biggie for us, but if you want to take lots of pictures, it might be a problem

- absolutely no sound from the forward lifts (two cabins away)

- bed near bath, which worked well for us

Sadly the same cabin is booked for the cruise we want to do next year - or we would have re-booked it without question. Back to the Solstice cabin info sheet to choose an alternative...

How/where do I find that info sheet? please post a link or explicit directions on how to access. I am dumb. thx.

It's on the link at the top of the Celebrity thread under Solstice cabin information. Here's a link to the thread.

Here's a link to the spreadsheet. I looked and didn't see your cabin number listed. it's post #830.

If anyone knows anything about this cabin, I'd really appreciate hearing about it! I've never sailed on pone of the Solstice-class vessels so know nothing about this "hump-aft" cabin with the larger balcony. A friend picked it out for me so I know it's going to be nice - but I'd love details .... Thanks in advance!
