I would just like to say, before I do a long party review, that this was the most awesome idea!! Everyone at my party had a blast. We had people that have cruised, and some that have not, but EVERYONE at my party is now planning on getting on the Splendor in April!!! We had so much fun, AND if John Heald is reading this, would like to tell you I have a budding Cruise diriector in my son, LOL Kudo's to Carnval for doing this. Review and more pictures to come as soon as we quit the party:D

Are you sure you can't join us on 12/3 for a 9 day on the Dream??????? IS GTY is down to $779!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Soooooo........this is the challenge...............All the Crazies have to enter the Balloon Bust...........BUT..............we can't compete against anyone that we know and are friendly with!!!!!!............Let's engage some newbie's on the ship.......not anything close to the Crazies........

 

Can you imagine..........2 or 3 hundred Crazies..............engaging 2 or 3 hundred.......newbies....You know those folks that just stand back in the shadows,,,,,, wanna be's but not...!!!!!!!....and when they get home they say """"Next Time"""""....Let's make it "THIS TIME"!!!!!!!!!!..........and what a fabulous cruise that would be for them................

 

We do have some pictures of Pirate & Princess in the balloon bust, I think, somewhere. . . . . . :confused: Al? Mary?

And, darn it, no I can't do the Dream in December. No vacation days. We're doing the 2 day in November. We'll give you a full report!! :D

The party is over on the S.S. Jackson. It was a great success and we all had a wonderful time. Lots of Welcome Aboard pictures, Sail Away party line dance competitions, water balloon battles for the kids, and kids and kids at heart flipping out over all of the phone.

 

We served caribbean wings, ginger spiced meatballs, coctails sausage, dirty rice, deviled eggs, bahama mama's (spiked and virgin), margaritas, and buckets of beer.

 

Many of our guests booked their first cruise with us for July, 09 and this was a great preview of the fun filled atomsphere on all carnival ships.

Oh.........did I mention that when we stopped in Norman at the Riverwind???? Casino.........I won $500 on a .25 Double Flaming Strike machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had $7.00 in the machine.....

The party is over....guests have gone....kitchen is sort of clean.....and my feet are killing me! I am soooo tired.

However, we had a BLAST!!! We ended up with 16 people here and Bill figured out that between all of us we had over 70 cruises under our belts! I don't know when I have laughed so hard. The food was good, the Fun Ship drinks were wonderful! Watching everyone trying to make towel animals was a riot.

I will post pictures tomorrow.....too tired tonight......

I must say that everyone at my party mentioned how much they LOVE all of the new stuff that Carnival is doing to market themselves. We laughed and laughed over all of the cute little sayings on the items carnival sent and the commercials as well as the billboards we've seen all over town. They really have done a good job this time. It sure beats the socks off of those old "payextraforyoursteeakguys of the seas". I actually recruited some of those people who cruise on that line as well as the grafitti boats to go with our big group in the fall. THey don't know what they're in for. They're gonna have to wakeup to party with us.

We had a great time. It has been such a tiring day. I had already scheduled my son's 6th birthday party for this afternoon, then we had the Carnival party after that! 10 little boys, hour to tear down/set up/cook, then 20 people! Woohoo!

 

Anyone else make the chocolate melting cake? It was fantastic! We had it (along with other food) and I made Funship Specials. We watched old videos from former cruises, played games and just relaxed!

WE had so much fun, I actually have group of women that said if this is how much fuin it is for just a few hours, they all want to book a girls only group cruise. So now, after cleaning up from the party, I will be heading over to Carnival.com to get pricing on trips for us ladies.

There's nuttin like a group of moms who let loose and decide to PARTY. :p :) :D

Well the first guest arrived around 4pm and the last guests just left. I think everyone had a great time & the party was a hit! We had 23 guests (25 if we count my kiddos). We may have convinced a few more to join us on our Dream Cruise :)

 

We had tons of food (not too may leftovers), great drinks, chocolate melting cake, towel folding & other games. The Carnival goodie bags were great! The only thing I can say I was slightly disappointed in was the Karaoke DVD ~ I just wish it had more than 2 songs!!

 

I'm exhausted & can't remember how to post pictures on here. (I just realized that I'm not in a single picture) I'll figure it out & post 'em tomorrow after work.

Well, my ice carving contest was a bust, literally lol, busted ice everywhere and not a recognizable sculpture. Circle C and Camp Carnival were a big hit. Drinks were a big hit. Showed everyone how to check cruises online and how to get to CruiseCritic, and most importantly... how to search!

 

I would love to post my pictures but one of the guests teaches internet safety at the elementary and didn't want any pictures online with kids and all have kids in them since I put my 12 year old in charge of pictures and video. I was too swamped to take pre-party pics. I should take a picture of the big mess left!

Well our party almost did not come off. While at church this morning Donna's mother passed out and had to be taken to the ER. That is a whole another story for another day. I hurried home after dropping Donna at the hospital to finish preparing everything for the party. After our daughter met Donna at the hospital a friend of ours from the church who was coming to the party picked Donna up and headed home.

 

We just finished almost everything when folks started showing up at 3pm. We had about 15 people show up. A few we had cruised with before and some newbies. We had brisket and grilled chicken and chocolate melting cake. Not very many photos as we mostly just visited and discussed cruising. We did have a few games of bingo and gave away a John Heald bobble head doll along with some of the Carnival Platinum thermos. The weather here was great about in the mid 60's here. We broke out a couple of photo albums and watched the Carnival DVD and tried to guess where some of the places were. I did recogonize Megans Bay in St Thomas and a shot from San Juan. Even a shot from Cabo. Some of the newbies are real interested in cruises.

Our party was small, but a success! We all had a great time. We didn't get around to playing any games, we just sat around and talked, but that was just as much fun. The kids did do the hula hoop contest.
