Muster drill inside now?

Have met in muster stations inside and been taken outside and have had muster outside only. I think it depends on the ship.....This has been within the last six months....

Exactly. Depending on my cabin, I have mustered inside and outside. Once we mustered inside, and were eventually taken outside. Other times, we were dismissed while inside.

We were inside on our Alaska cruise due to bad weather. And on the Legend last year my sister was in a HC cabin and she went to a separate area inside for her muster drill. Otherwise, we have always been outside.

Can anyone confirm if all muster drills are being done inside now? It would make my day!

Nope, Depending on the ship, they first round you up into a lounge or into the Theater, then the training begins, then you are all escorted topside to view your getaway boat.

As designinated on the cabin door, the muster stations on the Fantasy Class ships we've sailed are inside and you may or may not be escorted out to the boats.

The back of the cabin doors on the Victory and Conquest ships designate outdoor muster-stations on the lobby deck - at least on the ships and cabins we've sailed.

Your muster location is based on where your cabin is located on the ship. Some areas gather inside, some outside.

Let me know which cabin gather inside so I can book them, also I want to be close to a bar as well.

Thanks

Destiny, Spirit, and Conquest class ships (including Splendor) will have the muster drills outside along the deck with the lifeboats (unless there's bad weather like a previous posted noted). Fantasy class ships have the drill indoors since the lifeboats are along the top decks. Some Fantasy class ships end the drill at the lounge - others walk you up to the boats.

We've had bad luck with that - on my past 6 or 7 Fantasy cruises, we have always had to go stand by the lifeboats. Based on the time of year we often cruise, this usually entails freezing our butts off while we wait for the "signal" that the drill is over. It is NO fun at all. It wasn't too bad last week b/c the weather was nice - but I really do hate that part of the drill.

On the Holiday and Fantasy class ships they do the muster drills inside and then take you outside.

On all of the other ships they do the whole muster drill outside.

The only time they do the muster drills inside for the other ships is for bad weather.

The manner and location in which the Muster Drill was conducted on Carnival Freedom was one of my initial positive impressions of the ship. There is a dedicated deck, outdoors but well protected by superstructure and the lifeboats themselves. There are signs on the bulkheads indicating which lifeboats are assigned to that Muster Station and how many people each boat should contain for that cruise. The P.A. was easy to hear and the instructions were easy to understand. People were attentive and mostly quiet. It appeared that if the lifeboats had to be used, one would step directly from that deck into the lifeboat without the lifeboat having to be lowered from its storage position.

One interesting feature that I have never seen before was a box labeled "Crowd Control Supplies". Would have loved to lift the lid to see what was inside, but a crew member was standing nearby and thought I'd better not try.
