It looks like Comfort Inn also has some hotels around the area with reasonable rates. The rates around now should be about the same as next year. We probably should book early since they may have a big deal since this is the first Carnival round trip out of Seattle.

just dont try to book the days inn....i had reservations for august, they called me and said they were transfering ownership and if I wanted to keep my reservations I would be paying quite a bit more....

Roy, Is the Sea Tac Airport close to the main airport, rates look much better around that airport. It would be nice once we get closer to try and have a greet and meet in Seattle.

Hey Nutty; Happy Anniversity to you and WELCOME - WELCOME! Since you have done this group thing before we might have to pick your brain for activities! A lot of us are new to the GROUP thing too! We have a poker crawl and wine tasteing thread on the main board. A trivia thing that only Kathi, Cheri and I answer the questions! The second time to Alaska is kind of our chit chat thread - at this point; I think we only have about two others that have been to ALASKA. Roy lives need Seattle so he has been so kind to tell us about the area.

sea tac is seattles main airport, its about 20-30 minutes from downtown depending on traffic.....there are several hotels right by the airport also, that would be a descent option also, then just catch a cab on the day of the cruise....seattle is a great city for the cruise industry....tons of options

Thanks, what would we do without you! Probably not the first dump question I will ask!

thats not a dumb question, if you look at a seattle map, you will see an airport closer to seattle...that is boeing field, not an option for flying in commercially

WOO-HOO, Nutty! Glad to have you join us. Can I add you to our spreadsheet?

Roy - gonna pick your brain as we get closer to the cruise. One of the "tourist" things I want to do, is ride one of the ferries. Thinking I'd like to ride somewhere for lunch and great views. My husband says I've been watching too much Grey's Anatomy!

Did you know we're just a scenic half-hour ferry ride from downtown Seattle? Simply hop on the ferry to Bainbridge - we even offer a quick and FREE courtesy shuttle from the terminal

Hey Kathi, they will pick us up at the ferry trminal so they can take our money!

Hey Nutty. Welcome to our Alaska group. You sound as excited as us. Its bad to say but its all I think about :o

Can we see already what a flight will cost? I think your leaving from almost the same area as me Annette.

Looks like we will be going out of Greensboro at this point. They are only up to March so we need to probably wait until July to see what's going on.

Greensboro is where we will leave from to. Its weird here. Greensboro is cheaper to fly out of and is the same distance away as Charlotte. Dan flew to Wisc. for a special work dinner. They flew out of Greensboro and landed in Charlotte. It was 100.00 cheaper, go figure.

I am off to bed. Its been a long day and i've been up since 5:30am. Yal have a good night.

Great idea....we could do some "warm-up" donations to a casino before we board the ship!!

and from personal experience, I can say that if donating is what you want to do, this casino will gladly help you with that......I go there with $200... I spend $100 on let it ride, AND $100 ON the texas tina penny slots....have yet to walk out with any winnings....they used to have bingo there...I would go with my grandma and one night we hit them for $12,000

I like Little green men and the one where you eat the pies...can't think of the name. Love craps but can't afford to play and learned roulette on the Pride - it was interesting. Played Wizard of Oz in vegas but have not seen it on any ship, I think it was 5 cents - it was cool but lost my .......

Nite all!

Welcome Nutty!!!!!

Wow you all got chatty last night. I am game for any hotel that is clean, safe and cheap in that order:). I believe flights can't be booked until about the 330 mark, unless you are looking at southwest or some of the other discount carriers and they are about 6 months out I believe.

I have been searching as well, and hard for me to find a direct flight from Buffalo to Seattle which will be cheaper. But I am willing to pay more for direct flights. I hate to fly so I only want 1 up and 1 down...:p

LOL...I am so with ya! I haven't flown in almost 20 years. We go to Nebraska, we drive, 21 hours 1 way. I go to my doctor in June for my blood pressure check, going to ask him way in advance if he can give me something to calm me on the plane. I am a big baby :p
